That shit was so blatant. I hope he does get suspended. That move was way out of line. Also, from that game: Besides the epic goof by Pacioretty, man dat Stamkos slapper doe... Seriously, that is some unreal talent to bury a slapshot that close, on Carey Price, with the precision that he did it with; while going top cheese with it.

Prust is a career goon. Give him as big a suspension as you can.

The Hamburgular has tied a 76 year old NHL record held by Boston Bruins goaltender Frank Brimsek by starting his NHL career by allowing 2 goals or fewer in his first 12 starts!

The league ALWAYS goes too light on these things, and I don't get why. It's things like that or Shawn Thornton or Matt Cooke. Those guys play their careers on the other side of the borderline. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Stamkos is an amazing talent. Crazy to think how little Melrose played him so long ago. He's got the best pure shit and one-timer since Brett Hull. Yes, better than Ovi.

Tonights Rangers/Ducks game was suppose to be a showcase of the best of the East vs. the best of the West. It's currently 7-2 Rangers with about 10 minutes left in the game.
And that's the final score. Next game for the Rangers is Tuesday when they face the Kings at home.

Well, my Blues lost to the Wings from Abdelkader's OT winner. Hurts even more when you see pics of Abdelkader's girlfriend. What a lucky douche.
Steven Stamkos and Brad Marchand had one of the worst fights in the NHL's recent history. I won't bother with the blow-by-blow (or lack thereof), but just watch this "scrap" please. It's hilarious.

I'm as big a Bruins homer as there is, with that said, I think they're toast. Ottawa is prime position to take them out of the 8th spot.

So according to a Finnish Tabloid, Kovalchuk wants to return to the NHL at the 2016-2017 season. I doubt the NHL would welcome him back or the Devils would take him back. This is due to the Ruble going down but Oil and Gas is a boom/bust business and a lot can happen in two years especially the reason why Oil is down is because it's one giant game of chicken being played by OPEC.
So lets see if he wants to return back to the NHL if the Ruble is back to normal in two years.

I'm sure the Devils wouldn't mind having him back. The problem he has in coming back is that every single owner of the NHL would have to unanimously approve his reinstatement.
That's not happening.

I read somewhere that isn't the case if he's 35 but I think the original contract retains and still have to forfeit a first round draft pick. Actually who am I kidding NJ loved 35+ year olds Sorry but a top line of Gomez/Jagr/Elias in 2015 is one of the most surreal things that'll never be duplicated again this generation Im sure of it. But yeah NJD desperately needs offense. Like there isn't many good offensive prospects in your system right?

There are ok offensive prospects like Boucher and Matteau, which I hope the deep draft this year helps with. At least our young defensemen are looking very good like Adam Larsson and Damon Severson. And we're set in goalie with Cory Schneider, who is having a Vezina-caliber season. He's no Price, but he's among the top goalies in GAA, SV%, and shutouts. It's a real shame the team is so terrible offensively or he'd be up there in wins, too.
It's still insane how many Devils fans bag on him and want Marty back thinking we'd somehow have a better record with him in net. The only advantage of having Brodeur as the starting goalie would be a better chance at drafting Connor McDavid.

They might of made it to the playoffs if Schneider played 50+ games last season rather then 45. Dude is a incredible workhorse goalie as well. I think the best way to judge a goalie is how well he plays on the kind of team he's on and quality of his defense. He's playing like one of the best goaltenders in the league right now in a crappy team. Dude played elite when he was on a elite Canucks team. If dude played on a playoff team this year he probably be nominated for a Vezina. The fact he maybe nominated for a Vezina this year shows how underrated and talented he is especially on how this has been the season where there was more standout goaltenders this year then forwards. I still think Dubnyk will get the third nomination and both he and Schneider both deserve to be nominated. It's just Dubnyk had a incredible underdog career resurgence story everyone loves and he has played every game since being acquired by Minnesota and if Minnesota makes it to the playoffs, it would be one of the greatest season turn arounds ever. Before Dubnyk the Minnesota had a 5% chance of making it to the playoffs. But shit really there are fans that think Marty would do better then Schneider despite him being one of the worst goaltenders the last few seasons including while playing on a great Blue's team known to be one of the best defensive teams in the league? They don't see they have one of the best goaltenders in the league for years to come? Do they appreciate of knowing how hard it is to acquire an elite goaltender and they didn't have to give up much for one?

I think it's a testament to both Schneider and the Devils' young and developing defense that they're not getting bombed out game after game, especially with how terrible the offense is in keeping the puck in the other team's zone. It spends a LOT of time on the Devils' end because the offense is slow and old. The defense is also anchored by a tough, gritty leader in Andy Greene, who IMO should be the next team captain.
Kinkaid is also a pretty nice backup and I think there's still some nice goalie prospects in the system though I haven't kept much of a tab on their development in the farm. Ideally the team would be able to trade one of them for a forward or draft pick.

2016 draft prospect Jesse Puljujärvi's development as a player isn't stumping from a lack of playing time. At the moment he is playing in the second lind in a record long match, which has gone for 140 minutes and counting.
Still thirty minutes to go to break World record, which was set in 1936 by Montreal and Detroit.
Update: the game finished with a tad over 151 minutes played. Puljujärvi's Hokki lost.

Ideally the team would be able to trade one of them for a forward or draft pick. Kinkaid having a good campaign makes up for Wedgwood kind of crapping the bed in the minors (haven't checked recently to see if he's improved); him caddying for Schneider means the Devils are set in net, and the defensemen are only going to get better (plus there are more young ones on the way). On that end of things, the Devils are stacked. Unfortunately, as said above, they're the exact opposite on offense. It's why I actually wouldn't be shocked if the Devils welcomed Kovy back if he decided to return: New Jersey is in desperate need of help on right wing, and Kovy slots in perfectly, and even if he's not as good as he was a few years ago he'd still automatically be the top scoring threat on the team...and say what you will, but a power play that includes Kovy, Cammaleri, and Gelinas would be pretty sick. But, well, if they're gonna be strapped for offensive prospects, at least they have, what, 4 top 100 picks this year in a deep draft, and it's at least a little easier to find a competent winger on the trade or free agent market than it is to find really good blueliners.

Thank you Edmonton, for playing just well enough to beat my Avs and screw up their already slim chances for the playoffs.
