I loved it.
It gave us Venom driving a truck.
I'm disappointed that they didn't give us more Mark Hamill (with Joker voice) as the Hobgoblin.

It was kind of a mess, but it was still way better than Iron Man's show. Batman aged the best, easily, of those 90s superhero cartoons, but Spider-Man kind of falls in the middle, for me. Better than Iron Man and Fantastic Four, and a bit behind X-Men, which was also a complete mess, but a bit more entertaining of one, to me.

Still as entertaining to me as when I first watched it , I mean yea the censorship looking back on it is absurd but still doesn't take away from just how fun the series is.
The Venom saga alone is just a ton of fun and so many hilarious epic qoutes and moments.
Venom driving a truck "TICKET PLEASE" "YOOOUUUUU CAN'T ESCAPE MEEE I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARRRRRRRTTH!!!"

I love this show and never noticed the weird censorship till I went back and watched it recently. Though The laser guns never bothered me since that's what all cartoons had

Got to admit, as a Kid the whole "Spidey has a special destiny" storyline that ran from season three to the very end did annoy me most of the time (is there anyone who frequents comics that likes Madame Web?), but then the pay-off came with Spider-Wars and I firmly shut up.

I loved it. Used to be when I was a kid, I'd get in from play school, sit down with a ham sandwich and watch X-Men, Spider-man and later on, Batman Beyond. Pretty sweet line up now I think about it.

Not sure why the Marvel toons had people using laser guns when Batman got away with it. Sure in Batman they couldn't have people firing hand guns, but that didn't stop them from having people use Tommy guns all the time instead. The idea was that a kid could get a hold of a hand gun and emulate what they see but not likely a Tommy gun. When someone would draw a hand gun it would usually be knocked out of their hand before they could use it. I only know of two exceptions: 1. The Joker pulled a hand gun and fired it but it had a representation of his face on the barrel so the barrel stuck out of his mouth. I think the barrel may have been extra long too. Guess that somehow made it OK to show. The second time was Rupert Thorn firing a hand gun at Batman and misses. Batman chastises him for "pulling a piece". Not sure why it was allowed.

I was a fan of the show. The Venom arc was a big deal with my classmates. The 3D swinging animation they used in the early seasons was really bad, even for that time. They replaced it with the same swinging through the city animation. It was a little too much like the comic at the time. A lot of character monologuing what we just saw. The guest appearances were cool though. A lot of people like JK Simmons J. Jonah Jameson, but it's Ed Asner for me.

Count me in as a fan.
Hated the Madam Web and "Mary Jane is water" stuff though.
Too bad there was no Sandman. And Morpheus after plasma was just hilarious. Another censorship was making sure Spiderman never punched someone.

Loved this show back in the day. The early to mid 90s were a golden age for animated superhero shows. That being said, I'm shocked this never gave me a seizure as a kid, though. They didn't like letting any shot go for more than about a second or so on this show

Was a staple part of my Saturday morning ritual as a kid. Its hilarious to see how heavily they censored it with the perspective of an adult. The CGI scenes of webhead swinging through NYC looked cheesy to me even back then, but that was part of the overall charm.

I liked their dig at the Clone Saga.
Spider-Man: This is starting to sound like a bad comic book plot. Scarlet Spider: It gets worse.

Another censorship was making sure Spiderman never punched someone. Still holds up to me. I only remember one instance of spidey punching someone get someone and was Scorpion right across the chest. I never really got the morbius hate. They shoulda brought back Electro for secret wars. Chameleon should have talked. That kinda annoyed me. I wish someone would release a cd of the music from this and/or x-men. It really helped make the show.

Love it to death. I'll full admit Spectacular is the better show, but for an animated superhero series it was pretty groundbreaking in (like X-Men) introducing long story arcs and paying off character bits down the road; concepts much more common now but a huge deal back then.
I think its pretty cool that every generation of kids will have their own Spidey series to look back on; the 60s series, His Amazing Friends from the 80s, this one, Spectacular, and even for young people today the Ultimate Series (the poor schmucks).
