With all the recent "Indy" signings you think WWE will ever scout at Shimmer ...or do you think they will stay with their current strategy of picking up fitness models and trying to train them as wrestlers ?

Picking up fitness models and trying to train them as wrestlers is pretty much what's going to happen in the future. WWE only uses female talent as bathroom breaks, so you wouldn't want many good talent to keep people from buying concessions.

I'd expect to see a few Shimmer women sprinkle in here and there, especially if Sara Del Rey can use any kind of clout.
And as long as you have them and the models are coordinated and athletic, the NXT Women's Division should be fine. For instance, I don't think Charlotte had ever trained to be a wrestler, but I guarantee her being a gymnast plays a big part in her progressing as fast as she has.
As far as them being used on Raw? I don't expect that to change until whoever calls the shots for that show shuts the **** up and stops being that person.

I'd prefer they fix the problems with the Divas division before they do anything.

Given that Victoria and Trish Stratus were both fitness models without much/any indy time and are both considered to be two of the best female wrestlers, I don't think we should necessarily knock that business plan. There are great indy wrestlers out there, sure, but being a model doesn't preclude someone from becoming a really good wrestler.

WWE will continue signing mid to lower tier female indy workers and women with athletic backgrounds to contracts. So no Shimmer well known main eventers. Sasha Banks wrestled only in the New England area. AJ Lee was a lower tier wrestler before she signed her WWE contract and look how she turned out. Paige was was making a name for herself before she got signed.

They went through a spell in 2012 where they were signing more indy girls (most of whom had SHIMMER experience) than fitness models, but in the last year they've not signed any girls with significant wrestling pedigree so who knows. Either way, every Diva who has come through in the Sara del Rey/Performance Center era, indy background or not, has blossomed/is blossoming into a great talent (Eva Marie being rushed onto TV mere months into her training aside). Still, it'd be nice to see more girls getting to 'live their dream' as it were, so I hope they're not done with the indies as far as the women go. As people have said though, don't expect any of the SHIMMER/SHINE main event scene to be offered contracts, but any 18-24 year olds on the indies with a sufficiently 'Diva' look will hopefully be considered.

A good portion of the women involved with SHIMMER have interest in fitness and modeling. In fact, look up practically any of the successful women in any wrestling company around the world and they've usually at least dabbled in it, if only to pay some bills (male wrestlers aren't exempt from this either!). I'll echo the sentiment that any woman who goes through WWE developmental now without being is going to come out the other end very capable. Look at Kaitlyn, who started off extremely green and was hired mostly the basis of her look and body, and she evolved into one of the most interesting women in the company in years. And I would have put her ring skills right up there with the overall SHIMMER roster. That said, we've already had quite a few former SHIMMER athletes with Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Kharma, and Paige. And I think we'll see some more in the future. I'm looking forward to the debut of Rebecca Knox, now Becky Lynch.

I honestly can't figure out why Alissa Flash and Taeler Hendrix never got the call

I wish WWE would have snatched up Rain before she decided to retire. She's definitely pretty enough to be a Diva, and from what I can tell, she was a fairly decent name in the Indies. Maybe I'm biased because of those Wrestlicious bikini shoots from a few years ago.

I honestly can't figure out why Alissa Flash and Taeler Hendrix never got the call Alissa Flash did get a try out and a match on TV. It's my guess she didn't really do it facially for Mr. Laurenitis. Taeler Hendrix wasn't that great in the ring last I saw, and would have been considered too heavy to be a Diva. (big disagreement from me there) I see no reason to not add gratuitous pics to this thread

Imo it's a shitty way to run the division and thats why dozens of women who have no business in the ring get signed. It would be like trying to pick half your male wrestlers from West Newbury, Massachusetts cause John Cena is from there or half your wrestlers from Venice Beach cause that is where Hogan and Sting are from.

I'd love to see Barbi Hayden in the WWE.
Also Alyssa Flash and Portia Perez deserve a shot.

Taeler Hendrix may be "too heavy" to be a Diva, but she's the Undefined Champion of my Heart. Such a babe.

Don't forget that Paige, Emma and Bayley wrestled for Shimmer, so their alumi are represented pretty well.

Alissa Flash is easily the single best female wrestler to have never worked in WWE of recent times. As for Taeler's ring ability-Trish Stratus she most definitely ain't, but still light years ahead of Aksana or Taylor. Also got one of the most delectable derriere's on the indy scene.

With Sara Del Rey having some imput into the Divas' training, I could see their eyes turning to Shimmer and SHINE soon enough. Personally, I'd love to see my personal favorites Athena and LuFisto get signed to see what they can do on a grand stage.

They found Davina Rose (Bayley) and Tenille Dashwood (Emma) from Shimmer. So, I hope they do sign more.
