So I'm really enjoying Capaldi as the new Doctor, and Clara is slowly but surely growing on me as more than just "the replacement for Amy Pond" she felt like while she was with Matt Smith. Honestly, while the most recent episode wasn't the greatest, it felt like they worked together pretty well and have some decent chemistry, although the same can't exactly be said for her and "Mister Pink." {Spoiler}I was honestly more than a bit worried when it felt like the Doctor was jealous of Clara hanging out with someone who looked a lot like Eleven (seriously, for a second, I thought it was Matt), and then when he kept harping on Pink being a soldier... which makes me wonder if that dislike is something carried over from his last regeneration. After all, people went to war because of, and, more importantly, for the Doctor, and maybe he's growing tired of soldiers in general? I dunno.
Besides, I'm a bit more interested in this "Afterlife" and what it means, even though we've only seen little glimpses at it.

It was a good episode last night. Actually had some legit laughs from it, especially when the Doctor thought Clara was going with the teacher that looked like Matt Smith.
Still don't care for Danny Pink to be honest.

I loved the doctors face when Clara was like "he is so not my type" about the matt smith looking guy.
....part of me wants the little girl to be his new companion, maybe do a bit where she is going through the dressing room and finds ace's jacket.

Glad to see Chris Addison turn up right at the end, I'm desperate for them to go into Malcolm and Olly mode. Amazing that Addison seems to get younger with each passing year, he's 42 yet looks so much younger.

Not a bad episode but {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I was hoping for some chaos to ensue as the alien returned during parents evening, it felt as if it was going that way but then wussed out.
Maybe some parents being killed maybe, a bit dark I know but who cares

It was a pretty good episode in my good. Not great, but good. I also now feel completely comfortable with Capaldi, it feels like he's really found his version of the Doctor. Also, I can't help but love him when he's being dickish, it certainly is a change of pace from Ten and Eleven. In fact, it kind of feels like a throwback to the first and second Doctors back when he was more of an anti-hero, doesn't it?
Also, glad there finally seems to be a payoff to Danny Pink... existing in the first place.

Another complain I forgot to mention before: Would it kill them to find a different robot voice? Not all evil robos need to sound like Cybermen.

Didn't really like it. Too much whacky hijinks, bad story, bad monster, but I do like the chemistry between the Doctor and Pink. Capaldi's Doctor is very aggressive and confrontational, he could use a stoic soldier-type companion to counterbalance that.

And another thing: Why does the Doctor hate soldiers all of a sudden? Jamie was a soldier. Harry was a soldier. Rory in his Roman life was a soldier. When he was stranded on Earth in the 70s he chose to stay with UNIT, who are a military intelligence organisation. Brigadier Leftrbridge-Stewart was a soldier. Yes, he's always been a bit anti-authority and generally more of a scientist than a fighter, but still he mostly had good experiences with the soldiers he knew.

He's never being particularly fond of soldiers but he's never hated them.

I always assumed that it came from his Time War days. By the time it ended he probably had enough of soldiers, guns, and war.

I'll say here what I've said as each episode goes by. At this point I love Capaldi's Doctor so much that the episode quality is largely irrelevant to me. I just find Capaldi's Doctor mesmerising and WAY more interesting a character than the largely completely white-hatted Tennant and Smith Doctors.
Also Clara is hot.

I really liked Danny's reaction to hearing the phrase "Time Lord".

{Spoiler}So glad we're getting entirely new writers if they can come up with stuff of this calibre. I mean, scientifically bunk even beyond Who's typical levels (Tumblr Mobile actually working? As if!) but the emotion behind the episode was totally worth it, particularly leading up to the ending. Jenna was incredible there, and it's nice to see Clara finally standing up for herself after all his treatment, even though for once he was actually trying to do a good thing.
(Also, Courtney's a companion! Hooray! She deserves it. Probably the best child actor New Who's had, and it's nice to be able to add another name in the disappointingly short list of non-white companions.)

I've been a staunch defender of this season (I really liked Robots & Heist) but I seriously can't defend that one, Terrible episode.

I was kind of hoping that at one point they would show Courtney in the tardis going into the closet area and just strolling through and finding Ace's jacket and going "...why so many patches??"
i dont know....just a small wish...

This felt like a bad Russel T. Davis script. The supporting characters are way too stupid to be where they are, the science is nonsense, we have little black Rose Tyler being f***ing annoying, the Doctor who so far this season has been seen being very proactive und decisive is suddenly wringing his hands, people are running away from explosions in slowmotion, the consequences of the descision are completely ignored in the end, everything is fine and it ends in a "Humans are the sexiest and most amazing species ever" speech.

I feel like I watched a completely different episode to you guys. I liked this one for the spiders, the Doctors attitude to this problem, Clara's speech at the end and the reason for the Moons issues.
A good episode in my opinion.
