Tonight I was surprised to hear Rush's "Where's My Thing" left intact during the recap at the very end of the 1992 Royal Rumble. I remember a few mentions of it back in the WWE Network Edits thread. From what I understand, the version on the Network was originally the edited DVD anthology version but was changed to the original Coliseum Video edit. Regardless, as a Rush fan familiar with that deep "Roll The Bones" b-side, it's pretty damn cool to hear it intact. Whoa, wait, was that intact on the Coliseum VHS? Nope. On Coliseum Video, it was replaced with the 1991-94 Royal Rumble theme. On the 2007 DVD release, it was dubbed over with some generic music.

Interesting...so it's likely a hybrid of the Coliseum version and the Pay-Per-View version. Strange it would include the bonus Coliseum Flair interview AND "Where's My Thing".

Thanks, that's what I thought. That was probably one of my most played wrestling tapes as a kid and that song's inclusion is something I like to think I would have remembered.

The 2007 DVD also had that Flair interview. In fact, any segment involving Lord Alfred Hayes on the 1992 Rumble was a Coliseum Video exclusive. What makes this odd is that the Anthology DVD and Network versions are not identical to the Coliseum release as they contain Repo Man and Flair/Perfect interviews as part of the group of short interviews right before the Rumble match. For some reason, Coliseum Video cut those from its release. I've noticed the "hybrid" thing myself on other shows. WCW Hog Wild 1996 on the Network restores hotline and merchandise plugs but not the plug for Fall Brawl right before the main event.

Makes me wonder if the music's inclusion after this long wasn't an accident and they actually obtained the rights. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it's edited out in a week once word of this gets around. Regardless, this is a pretty awesome inclusion. (I edited my original post to avoid any extra confusion)

Hillbilly Jim has "Don't Go Messin With a Country Boy" intact during WrestleMania 17.
As already mentioned it is awesome that they kept in "Bring Me To Life" for No Way Out 2003.

"Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. WWE used the song for the tribute video to Hulk Hogan during his birthday celebration on Raw last year and I was certain that the Network version of the show would replace it. But no, the video and original song are intact!

I was surprised the Dudleyz still had powerman 5000 at armageddon 2002. Not sure if they have it on other shows.

A lot of the time they leave Stone Cold's Disturbed theme intact but then they dubbed over it on Royal Rumble 2001

The Memory Remains by Metallica as the cell comes down on HHH and Taker at Wrestlemania 28. Metallica charge an arm and leg for use of their music, don't they?

Well, when you're in charge and your music's done by one of the biggest rock bands in the world, guess you can make the call on where you can spend royalty money.

Really strange since WWE left these themes in on many DVDs. On the first Nitro DVD they included a full music video for DDP using his 'Self High Five' theme that sounds like Nirvana. There really should be no legal problems with these themes as Jimmy Hart and his composer partner purposely changed the music just enough to be legal and they had no problems with the theme for years. Maybe they don't wanna pay Jimmy? He did most of the WCW themes. I think Jimmy Hart himself said that had WWE asked him for permission to use his WCW themes, he'd have given it to them, free. WWE just got lazy and never asked him.

WWE just got lazy and never asked him. WWE does use Jimmy's WCW themes. They're all over WWE releases and the Network. However, in 2014, they suddenly stopped using the WCW themes he did that are known to be knockoffs of real songs after years of using them with no problem. I think this has been a problem for years as Jimmy did DDP's theme, but when the last two WCW games were released, Jimmy did an alternate version just for them ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh6v1xCmr_s). It's been said this was done because DDP's actual theme sounded too much like "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
