Ever since they released Josh Matthews they've stopped showing the pre shows live from the arena.
It's lost it's atmosphere and doesn't make me want to watch anymore.

I understand the Smackdown Preshow being in a studio and not working... but the RAW show was pretty cool.

It's definitely something that should be used for PPVs, but doing it every week seemed like it would get old and tired real fast.

Maybe the pre-show/post-show arena setup got the budget cutter.

So WWE is removing/changing some of the only actual Network-exclusive content? Yeah, that'll get people to sign up. :/ Don't get me wrong: the Raw pre and post shows got old after a few weeks of the same format and didn't make me want to tune in anyway, but the shows could've still been more than what they were. An exclusive dark match every week that I couldn't otherwise see unless I was at the arena? On paper that's a good selling point. Instead we got Booker T talking and a snippet of the dark match if we were lucky. If WWE is doing this to save money, how about they just cut out that stupid PPV panel? Why am I booking and flying out Jim Duggan to talk for two seconds in kayfabe about who he thinks will win the Royal Rumble to an audience who's already watching the show?

On the podcast Booker T calls into every week,he said they were going to be back in the arenas for the Pre-Show's in a couple of weeks(pretty sure it was last weeks episode of the podcast).

As a selfish mark for Alex Riley who hopelessly wishes that he'll get to do more, I don't like the pre/post shows being in Stamford. Riley has a good rapport with Booker, but it's a waste when they can't be treated as actual "characters" in the WWE narrative. If he and Booker are in the arena, they can at least be used for RAW segments such as "Bad News Barrett ruins New Years" and the like, or make appearances on WWE Inbox or the JBL and Cole Show.
In that regard, I'm also glad they did away with the post shows. They should go back to doing the pre-shows in the arena, and then every once in a while let Riley change out of his suit afterwards and put on his trunks to have a match on RAW.

Apparently RAW pre-show and Backstage Pass is back tomorrow according to the adverts on WWE network unless they just haven't updated their adverts

Apparently RAW pre-show and Backstage Pass is back tomorrow according to the adverts on WWE network unless they just haven't updated their adverts Both are listed on the schedule grid, so I would expect them to be there. Plus it's the night after a PPV, presumably giving the panel plenty to talk about.
