First Round Recap part 2:
Things got off to a wild start when Shane McMahon met Rikishi. Rikishi dominated the match, but after the ref got bumped Triple H sent his DX flunkies Road Dogg & X-Pac out to help his brother-in-law. Too Cool rushed out to help their friend and when theref recovered all he saw was an all out brawl. He had no choice but to disqualify both men.
This meant that the winner of the next match would get a bye to the Quarterfinals. Already worn out from fighting DX earlier, Scotty 2 Hotty couldn't overcome the fresh D'Lo Brown who won with the Lo Down. Afterwards, DX returned to attack Scotty prompting Rikishi and Grand Master Sexay to save their friend. Rikishi hit both Road Dogg & X-Pac with a Banzai Drop. As a result both DX members had to forfeit thier matches against Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko.
Val Venis began the defense of his crown with a victory over Al Snow after the Money Shot.
Our next match was continuation of one of the hottest tag team fueds in recent history as Christian battled Jeff Hardy. Christian picked up the win after Jeff missed a Swanton dive.
Jeff's brother Matt didn't fare much better as the more experienced Eddie Guerrero got an easy win with a Frog Splash.
But Eddie had other things on his mind. He declared that his girlfriend Chyna was far prettier than any of The Godfather's ladies and was angry when The Godfather simply laughed. Halfway through the match he jumped The Godfather which got Chyna disqualified and Eddie had to beg forgiveness from his girlfriend.
So the second round is set. Who's going to Boston for the PPV? Time to vote.
