It takes very little for a network to sour on a writer.
The execs at Spike TV have eyes and ears so the fact that its took them as long as it did to sour on Russo....

Yeah, I'm sort of confused about whether they mean a single person at Spike isn't fond of the product with Russo involved/doesn't like the angle he pushes things in, or if it's a network whole hatred of someone. There's a lack of specifics, and given Spike hasn't changed their (lack of) public words about TNA over the last few months I think this is more wild speculation made into a news story as happens a ton with Meltzer being paraphrased from when he rambles a bit on his show, which is not his fault most of the time. Spike could well be unhappy with Russo being hired, but why? Direction of program? Reputation in some regard? Wage demands over a certain amount? It's an empty statement without sources, why would "a source at Spike" not want a name/their job role mentioned? They hold the power here, they don't have to fear backlash from wrestlers) and eh, it's just vague. It sounds more like Meltzer thinks someone at Spike could be unhappy and given how he rambles he's let the train get ahead of the tracks in this regard. Given the show's recovered wildly over the last 2/3 weeks in ratings and viewers (not sure if I'm wrong on the latter, saw someone in a thread mention improved ratings) why would Spike really care? They didn't seem to care too much when Hogan/Bischoff lowered the ratings compared to when Russo was in charge prior. EDIT: just read the above posts, that makes more sense. Disregard 70% of this post. All the same, you're right in saying the lack of specifics on WHO at Spike is upset makes it harder to put stock in it, but I also get that naming names can cause problems, even if it means the newz has less substance. Sources are almost never going to be named. 1. If you're giving your name to these stories, people aren't gonna talk to you anymore, they won't trust you because you're the guy who lets news out. 2. It you're the journalist, and you keep giving out names, pretty soon no one will talk to you because they're not anonymous, there could be reprisals within the company, looking for employment, people will know you've 'ratted out' the business and all the stuff 1 suggests. So there has to be an element of faith. Knowing what we do about the workings of TV, and the fact that Russo's employment was kept secret, things fit, sometimes 1+1=2.

Maybe we should have just given that guy on here who wanted to purchase TNA a chance.

SO we are to take this jackasses word that Spike tv execs don't like Russo? Please, even giving this turd the benefit of the doubt that he has some connections to wrestlers he has none to tv executives. How much do we hate Russo that we are so willing to believe the smarkbaitiest of smarkbait in a long time. Or it might be because Spike see a guy who consistently puts out offensive or rubbish content and has written storylines that have involved violence against women even though there's a clear order not to do it. The idea of Spike TV having a problem with "offensive or rubbish content" gives me a migraine.

They have toned down a lot though what they show, its mostly edited movies, some reality shows, Bellator, and COPS

Spike needs to do a "1,000 Ways To Die: TNA Edition" a half hour of their worst decisions of all time.

Yeah, I do not like Russo, but Spike TV trying to preach a moral ground is ridiculous. Russo actually seems like a good fit for Spike given the shows they have green lighted in the past, although maybe they have toned it down recently.

Spike has toned down greatly from its past lineups. The only real connection to their roots is the Spike's Man's Choice Awards. As mentioned, Spike is trying to broaden its horizons and leave behind the brazen, bathroom humor. Russo's booking is a reminder of what they are trying to move away from.

Has TNA released a statement saying that Russo is no longer affiliated with them? It be tragically hilarious if after all of this he's still employed.

Spike used to be Maxim Magazine come to life or the result of giving AXE body spray a tv network. Now they are trying to find a new identity. Especially since Esquire is now doing the whole Men network deal but more highbrow.

I remember when they were The New TNN, in between The Nashville Network and Spike TV, and had Diff'rent Strokes reruns, WWF and a cool show called Fame for 15. I was on board with that. Then they had that crappy animation block when they became Spike TV, with the bad Ren and Stimpy, but at least there was MXC. All of that was really overwhelming, makes my head spin, makes me want to cry out

Someone else will have to talk about the Green Hornet in general... but I believe Kato is the hornet's sidekick / driver. Also it is most famously played by Bruce Lee in the 1960's show. All I remeber about Okato (yes that's what they called him) he dressed like the character and was Joe's buddy... I think he was the one that supplied the footage for Joe of Pope D'angelo trying to buy a pitbull puppy for the purpose of dogfighting. Just watched "Okato" on youtube against pope....Russo being Russo, either he really hates Japanese folks, or he thought that dressing a hot prospect as a crazy 88 reject was money...f*** poor okada he must've hated his us adventure; wonder if Russo is going to dress Sanada as Sulu. Considering there is a video out there where Okada says in broken English "f*** TNA" after being asked if he'd ever go back...yeah, I don't think he looks back fondly on that period of his career.
