My mom didn't think Ren & Stimpy was the kind of show I should have been watching with stuff like Ren berating Stimpy (calling him stupid and whatnot.)

Beavis & Butthead - For a while my mum didn't like me watching it but after a while she was OK with it as my dad & Sister watched it from time to time and told her it's nothing to get in a tizzy about
Which is funny as she let me watch WAY worse (Tales from the crypt)

My mom had MTV on a block at one point. My brother however went through and through trial and era figured out what the 3 digit code was to unlock it.

Nothing. My folks were pretty liberal with letting me watch and play whatever I wanted. I remember watching South Park with my mum when I was 12/13 (I remember her liking Starving Marvin and Big Gay Al) and my Dad playing the first GTA game with me. Really, the only thing they didn't let me watch was anything they found too loud, obnoxious and annoying. Like Kenan and Kel, I could watch that when my dad wasn't in but if he was in the room I couldn't since the shouting annoyed him

My parents and grandmother generally approved of what I watched, so long as it didn't have like a rape scene or anything. The one show they felt they had to watch with me was Beavis and Butt-Head when I was about 10, but after a couple of episodes they stopped supervising me because they realized I wasn't about to imitate them.

They didn't outright refuse to let me watch Jerry Springer but strongly suggested to change the channel "Don't watch that filth, son."
They had good advice.

Pee-Wee's Playhouse and wrestling were the two main ones. South Park was absolutely forbidden, though I'd sneak into my parents' room on nights my mom worked and watch it anyway, with the sound turned down low. Pee-Wee wasn't banned, but it was definitely frowned upon. She took glee in telling me the show had been canceled "because a lot of people didn't like it." Wrestling was an odd one, since my uncle got me into it, so my mom couldn't outright forbid it. She was able to block me from watching Raw for a couple of years, since it came on late.

My mom wouldn't let me watch the Simpsons because she thought it was Chinese propaganda (her reason for this was that the people were yellow so obviously it was made in China. I'm not joking)

Ren & Stimpy, The Simpsons and South Park.
Then when I did actually watch them, I hated all three with a passion. Funny, that...

South Park and Wrestling were the two big ones. Also a bunch of smaller shows that I can't remember the names of.

My Mum wouldn't let me watch Sesame Street, I mean WTF? To this day I still don't understand why not as all she'd say it was "rubbish".
I watched tons of rubbish! Shows that knocked points of my IQ just by tuning in, questionable Simpson’s and wrestling episodes, shows with gross-out humour and cartoons with a lower framerate than Skyrim on the PS3 so why not Sesame Street? A show lauded as one of the all-time great kids shows, hell all-time great shows in general. (It wouldn't be for any of the criticisms on it's Wikipedia page either)
Aside from that she was OK with wrestling in general but hated women fighting, even back before there was an over-sexualision of women's wrestling

My parents didn't regulate what I watched. They would just remind me not to copy anything I saw.
It worked...for the most part.

The only thing they banned me from watching was Eurotrash
I had to go round to a friends house to watch it ;D
Me Mum hated Ren and Stimpy with a passion and they weren't to thrilled with me watching South Park either.
But to their credit they let me be me for most part.

My mom actually let me and my siblings watch Married with Children, The Simpsons, In Living Color, South Park(syndicated. We didn't have cable), wrestling, Family Guy, and, and the like. They'd kinda scoff at us for watching it("You watch Pokemon?!?!"), but as long as we didn't repeat any of the swearing or stupid stunts, it was okay.
And we all turned out just fine, too.

My mother wouldn't let my brother and me watch South Park, Jerry Springer, Beavis Butthead, and Clarissa Explains it All.
Now I can understand the first 3 shows reasoning, but Clarissa Explains it All?
Her reason behind not letting us watch Clarissa was because my mom didn't like the way Clarissa talked to her parents. Dumb reason, I know.

My mom never really outright forbid me from watching anything specific, but she definitely frowned on Beavis and Butthead and South Park. I remember her confusion and dismay when walking in on one of the other old MTV cartoons (think it was The Head).
My mom was more anal retentive about music though. The one time I changed the radio station to the alternative station here and Nirvana's "Rape Me" started playing on the radio... that was a rough conversation.

"Hey mom, wrestling is about to come on!" "Not on this TV, motherf***er."
Exact conversation I had with my mom recently.
