I don't understand why they bother paying Rey Mysterio another year, but then let go 11 guys for budget cuts. Because if he had cashed his checks, they would have had to release 22 guys.

I think he means why are they trying so hard to keep him around when he obviously doesn't want to be there when the money they've put into forcibly extending his contract could've covered keeping one or more of those talents they released.

I know. I was just joking.

He's bringing in more money than they are paying him. Why end the contract of a performer that is making your business a profit?
That's business, folks.

I hope Rey opens up an ice cream and names flavors based on his WWE colleagues. Dolph Ziggler's would be the Vanilla Midget, Michael Cole's would be the Fudge Packer

How? Ray Ray owes an "x" amount of hours to the WWE. It's awful that he got injured, but he is obligated to fulfill is contract whether or not he is cashing in the checks. I lost a lot of respect for this mediocre wrestler and hope he has a difficult time finding another job if he does weasel his way out. That's like LeBron getting hurt and missing a season and the Cavs trying to add another year because he "owes" them x amount of games per season. If Rey signed a 3 year deal when that three years is up he should be able to go free regardless. That's why it's bullshit. If the WWE guys are dumb enough to sign deals where they have to make a certain amount of dates instead of for a certain amount of years I don't know what to say. Wrestling contracts are not the same as an NBA contract. The WWE contract DOES have yearly but a lot of the big name guys have "X" amount of dates on them. The stupid part of the WWE is when they over used a talent and the dates get to close to running out. Example Goldberg Signed One year. But almost reached his date limit so he got storylined Suspended just so he have enough dates to build for Mania. The same with Lensar he signed a 3 year deal I believe but only has to work so many dates. But if you didn't forfill the dates why should it be ok to leave? The other thing is you talked about missing one year. Rey missed more than that. How many times has he been out for long period of time. Hell he been here since 02. In the last few years he missed almost a year each injury and hasn't stayed healthy longer than six. I barely can remember the last time he was around more than six months.
