Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that what Flair did at Wrestlemania 24? Except...he didn't go out. He left WWE out on his back. No one knew or thought that he would be with TNA within a couple of years, I'm sure.

No one knew or thought that he would be with TNA within a couple of years, I'm sure. well, you can believe me or not....but I always thought he'd come back to the ring. His most genuine promo was the "I WILL NEVER RETIRE" tirade. That whole elaborate retirement angle wasn't genuine. The WWE tried to retire him, Flair in his heart of hearts wasn't ready to retire. Even at 59.

I pretty much viewed Flair's exit as an end to his time as a full time wrestler, which it was.
As for this match, I thought the pin attempt was stupid even at the time, but as someone else said, I bought Yoko as a bad dude.
