Now, y'all know I love me some Mariah Carey and as a kid growing up in the 90s, this song was always played on the radio, even years after its initial release in 1991. However, the radio stations here would play three different versions of the song. The standard and radio remix versions would play on the pop stations and the new jack swing version would play on R&B and hip hop stations. Clearly, the new jack swing version is the superior version of Someday and the one that brings back the most memories of coming home from staying at my Aunt Katherine's house for the weekend and hearing the song on the way home all the time.  |

I only remember hearing the New Jack Swing version back then. Didn't know there were multiples.
Off-Topic: I can't find Mariah Carey attractive cause she's a spitting image of what my mom looked like in her twenties.

The new jack swing version got the most airplay in my car as a kid, so the original always sounds like an "interesting alternative" in my head.

Off-Topic: I can't find Mariah Carey attractive cause she's a spitting image of what my mom looked like in her twenties. So, you're mom is half black, but has the Mariah Carey whiteness and curly hair going then? Also, my mom back in the day looked like a black Madonna, specifically, True Blue era. |

Even though I was listening to the r&b/hip-hop stations, I remember the original mix the most because that's what they played at the skating rink. And I went skating, A LOT.

My Mom is half Navajo Indian and White. But shares all the same features. |

The new jack swing version was my favorite because I love new jack swing and I liked the little dance break in thw video. But I kind of hated the video because I thought it looked like a back-to-school ad.
