I did not even bother to try since my life before age 20 was nothing but an endless series of rejection already. I did not feel like adding to the fire.

A guy asked me as a joke twice. I went to both of my proms alone, but that didn't really bother me. The dresser I wore were a different story.

Being British, I don't understand any of this prom nonsense. Just sounds like a load of pressure and anxiety leading up to the thing trying to get a date, followed by a big let down on the actual night.
When I left school, we all just got wasted in the 6th form common room. You didn't need a date or fancy clothes for that.

I was single and the only girl I was interested in had started dating someone else, so I went stag. it was a lot more fun that way and I avoided any drama.

I live in Connecticut, and people still talk about that girl and how they fear sending their kids to school because of things like that, and Sandy Hook The sad thing is that I had no idea about that incident involving that girl until a month later when I watched a Laci Green video on the whole Elliot Rodger thing. Poor girl is what I think for the most part. She had gotten to school and then right before school started, she lost her life.

I duno how true it is but allegedly one of my classmates asked out a girl that he liked who unfortunately for him turned out to be a total psycho as she responded by kicking him in the nuts. She was a poster here on FAN?

I always worked during my prom nights. Still don't regret it.

Took my then-girlfriend to my senior prom. Had a terrible time because she wasn't at all into the dancing (not her fault, but we're at prom) so I spent most of the night showing off my moves solo. Had a fight with her afterwards and we almost broke up that weekend. FUN!
What's funny to me is that the next year I got asked to my school's senior prom by a girl who was a year younger than me. I was single at this point, but we had been friends for a while so it was more of a platonic thing. Ended up having a hell of a great time because this girl loved dancing and there was no romantic pressure or anything. I remember it so much more fondly than my actual prom.
EDIT: Also, the night of my prom Mastodon was doing a show in my town and I skipped out on it. Regretted it for a long time haha, finally saw them this year and it was AMAZING.
EDIT2: Just realized this has NOTHING to do with getting rejected for a prom date. Shame on me.
