15 John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio - Miracle on 34th Street Fight - Monday Night Raw - December 18, 2012 - 6 Points (Voted #5 once)Probably the match I least expected to see on this list. 'Twas the Raw before Christmas, and in the opening segment, Mexico's Greatest Export unwittingly ran down none other than the big man himself, Santa Claus. Of course, Cena would not stand for this, and thus the second annual Miracle on 34th Street Fight was booked. We had Cena wielding a TV, Ricardo Rodriguez handing Del Rio a bazooka in a box that was in fact a teddy bear, Cena no-selling said teddy bear, and eventually an Attitude Adjustment. It was fantastic as comedy matches go, but this had big ramifications. Del Rio's remorse would eventually fuel his face turn on New Year's Eve and lead to his World Heavyweight Championship reigns on SmackDown.

I'll be gone by then so you're going to have to get somebody else to cover picture duty for you.

In the meantime, someone pick a number between one and four. It'll determine who next week's subject is. I'll provide a hint at the countdown's conclusion.

14 John Cena vs. Triple H - WWE Championship - Night of Champions 2008 - June 29, 2008 - 7 Points (Voted #4 once)The year was 2008, and The Game reigned over SmackDown as WWE Champion once again. At Night of Champions, he would face Cena, who represented Raw and was desperately trying to prevent the God awful Vladimir Kozlov feud from happening. Sadly it was not to be, as Triple H took Cena down with a well-timed Pedigree.

13 John Cena vs. Randy Orton - I Quit Match for the WWE Championship - Breaking Point 2009 - September 13, 2009 - 8 Points (Voted #3 once)No, this isn't the one where Orton tried to light Cena on fire, sadly. Now Randy Orton had won the WWE Championship back from Triple H shortly after WrestleMania 25. After moving back to Raw, Cena decided he'd be having none of that, and soon began a lengthy feud. This time around, it was Cena, a pair of handcuffs, and an STF that'd get The Viper to hit his breaking point and quit.

12 John Cena vs. Batista - SummerSlam 2008 - August 17, 2008 - 9 Points (Voted #7 once)And it feels like the very first time... Yes indeed, in Raw's main event for SummerSlam, The Champ and The Animal would go face to face for the first time ever. Now Cena wins a lot of first-time matches (Money in the Bank, WrestleMania, etc.), but this would be the exception to the rule, as Batista would put Cena away with a Batista Bomb.

(Slight change of plans. We'll return with the Top 10 tomorrow afternoon.) 11 John Cena vs. JBL - I Quit Match for the WWE Championship - Judgment Day 2005 - May 22, 2005 - 16 Points (Voted #7 once)It was at WrestleMania that John Cena defeated JBL to win his first ever WWE Championship. JBL, naturally, cried foul, and requested an I Quit Match for his automatic rematch. Of course, as JBL would soon discover, John Cena never ever gives up, not even when he's bleeding all over his limo. Cena would eventually threaten to whack JBL in the head with a lead pipe if he didn't quit, which he did, leading to Cena's first ever successful WWE Title defense. Cena would hit JBL with the pipe anyway, on principle.

I can't believe I was the only person to vote for the Christmas street fight! It's a good comedy match but I wouldn't say it was in Cena's top 10 matches of all time.

Going to do some lawn work. Will resume with 10-6 after that, but first, some hints!
-4 gimmick matches -1 repeat opponent -All World Title matches -Cena's record in the next five matches: 3-2

Back from hiatus, here's the start of 10-6 (5-1 will be revealed later tonight). 10. John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam - Extreme Rules for the WWE Championship - ECW One Night Stand 2006 - June 11, 2006 - 22 Points (Voted #5 once)If ever one picture told the story of someone's career, that'd be it right there. Having won Money in the Bank a few months prior, Mr. PPV chose to forgo the element of surprise in favor of home-field advantage: an Extreme Rules Match at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The Champ had faced hostile crowds before, but never one quite as hostile as this. This was the first appearance of the sign shown above, which would be referenced extensively over the years. The Mutants booed Cena early and without end, and even tossed back his T-shirt, something that'd become common among more violently anti-Cena crowds. Cena came very close to defeating Van Dam, but as if destiny willed it, Edge would Spear Cena through a table, to the delirious cheers of a crowd that had hated him an hour ago. Soon after, Van Dam would take flight and claim his first (and only) WWE Championship.

9. John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels - WWE Championship - WrestleMania 23 - April 1, 2007 - 23 Points (Voted #5 twice)In theory this match should've been one of the all-time classics. You have Mr. WrestleMania, still cranking out good matches with stiffs on a regular basis, against Cena, who when put on PPV is at least a 3 star minimum. So why is this match overshadowed by their encounter on Raw at month's end? Well, first things first Cena won, which doesn't help it historically with how Cena is viewed on places such as these. Second of all, there was some dodgy selling on Cena's part soured Michaels on this matchup. Not to say this was a bad match. There was a simple but effective storyline (the two were also Raw's Tag Team Champions for a time before the event), and overall, a nice addition to both men's resumes, though not the all-time great it could have been.

8 John Cena vs. Umaga - Last Man Standing for the WWE Championship - Royal Rumble 2007 - January 28, 2007 - 29 Points (Voted #5 twice)Quick, name five great matches from Royal Rumble besides the Rumble itself. Bzzzt! Time's up. Really, the only options are Jericho/Benoit, Strike Force/Orient Express, Cactus Jack/Triple H and Mankind/Rock if you really hate Mick Foley, and this match. A few weeks prior, the Samoan Bulldozer seemed to have the Champ in his sights on Raw when Cena dodged the Samoan Wrecking Ball and rolled Umaga up. Naturally, Armando Alejandro Estrada called shenanigans and demanded a rematch at Royal Rumble in Last Man Standing rules. What we got was one of the most unforgettable matches of not only the PPV's history, but Cena's career. Umaga threw everything he had at John, including a big splash through an announce table. Cena, meanwhile, hit Umaga with an FU on the steps, which he survived. In the end, Cena had to choke the big man out not once, but twice with the ring ropes to finally put Umaga to sleep and retain his title.

7. John Cena vs. Edge - Last Man Standing for the World Heavyweight Championship - Backlash 2009 - April 26, 2009 - 29 Points (Voted #1 once)Say what you want about John Cena, but you can't deny he's done some absolutely daffy shit in his career. Case in point... It was just after WrestleMania 25, and Edge was coming for his rematch. The Champ decided to face The Rated-R Superstar in a match he rarely, if ever, lost in, a Last Man Standing Match. It seemed like John had it in the bag, but from out of nowhere came a very angry giant called The Big Show. One Chokeslam through a stage light later, Edge was once again World Heavyweight Champion, and Cena would soon decamp to Monday Night Raw.
