Since he has evidently launched a new career as a steam cooker pitchman, I figured we could take a moment to reflect on the ever storied WWE career of one Gene Snitsky. He certainly had one of the more...unique runs that I can remember. Debuted as a local jobber, developed into a gimmick that consisted of hating baby's, licking feet, and shouting "IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!!" Then disappeared for a while and came back shaved bald and with the worst teeth this side of Isaac Yankem. Granted, the guy was never going to be world champion, but still, I'm amazed he didn't end up devolving into a comedy jobber ala Santino. The especially unusual part is that by all account Vince was high on the guy and wanted to push him hard. And, oh yeah, those many FAN polls where Snitsky was the default option.

The funniest thing about this clip to me is how Jericho admires the hang time on the punt.

I always remember when Vince announced him as Cena's opponent expecting a big pop and got crickets instead.

Remember when every poll on here had a "SNITSKY!" option?

If actually like to know how Vince expected him to be a heel since his into feud was with Kane, who was himself a heel and fresh off a rape/forced impregnation story with Lita.

He had a quirky charisma that made him impossible to hate.

Dude was just so bizarre (until they neutered him with the bald gimmick and the ripoff of Piilman's theme) that he was kind of fun to watch in a trainwreck sort of way.
I liked when they had him teaming with Goldust.

I had a small measure of fondness for the guy, even if he was fairly one-dimensional.

He was so popular around here the mods at the time were forced to make an all purpose Snitsky thread...

Had he been in today's WWE I think he would have had more of a sustained push.
Pretty good and entertaining for a generic big man.
