Because that was his debut and it would not made sense to have a new guy they hype up only to have him lose his first match.

WWE completely forgot about booking Fandango with any sort of legitimacy after his concussion in June 2013.
Why?

Being apart of the RAW after 'Mania 29 crowd, I am perfectly fine with him beating Jericho. Because my God that weekend was amazing.

At any point, Fandango could become super hot again. He's that good. Curtis is such a nuanced, excellent performer in every avenue that a wrestling talent is measured. He's just one tweak away (a la bad news barrett) from being a major part of the show again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: His main hope is a tag team with someone like Adam Rose, maybe call them the Exotic Express. As of now though he's such a jobber as a singles guy that he's beyond hope. Oddly enough it seemed like after his best match with Orton on Raw last year he just was totally buried.

IMO they should tone down the dancing gimmick and push some of the creeper stuff he was doing before Fandango. The guy is funny, and this gimmick is holding him back.

I've said it several but the dude is such a phenomenal talent that I can honestly see him main-eventing as his Dirty Curty character, in the same vein as Edge, and hope that one day we actually get to see that. I actually wanted him to join Evolution as an up-and-comer after Triple H mentioned that he's an A+ player in a promo because he really is.

At the time he was a fresh guy being pushed, and Jericho was a vet with nothing to gain from the victory career-wise. It made sense at the time, it's just that WWE dropped the ball again on a potential star.

Because Mr.Burns Vince really liked Frank Grimes Fandango until he saw the news piece about the hero dog got a concussion and then he forgot all about him.

If WWE plans to continue doing main roster/NXT crossovers, then Fandango should be the next main roster contender for the NXT Title.

I love this gif, so much I remember being in the crowd for Wrestlemania 29, and being excited for that match, because the people I went with were so excited to see Jericho lol.

Nobody could say his name right back then. Once everyone got the hang of saying his name Fandango lost his powers and became every bodys whipping boy.

He was said to be Vinces pet project and I believe it due to how quickly his push simmered.
