Voices of Wrestling believe that even though Ricochet retained the Open the Freedom Gate Title last night at EVOLVE, he has reportedly signed a contract with Lucha Underground, which will affect a lot of the other bookings that he has. They speculate that Ricochet may lose a unification match with Drew Galloway that may officially end the Dragon Gate USA concept. www.voicesofwrestling.com/2014/09/14/what-in-the-world-is-going-on-with-ricochet/

I have heard, though this is from Konnan, that they're looking to restructure their contracts from what they originally put out. Plus, while Ricochet would have to have Lucha Underground as his primary home, he might still be able to work indies if they worked out his contract.

There's a similar case on the women's side - Ivelisse Velez is also signed up to Lucha Underground, and she's the SHINE Champion, also in the WWNLive family. Though with the way they're starting to build Su Yung up, I think SHINE have plans in the near future to solve that problem.

Is Lucha Underground any good? I have heard a lot of rumblings about it over the past couple of years (as well as Lucha VaVoom). Worth taking the time for?

Lucha Vavoom is just insane, it's like this weird variety show with drag queens and Lucha libre and stuff. I recommend checking it out on YouTube just to see the strangeness of it. Lucha Underground, I don't believe has started airing yet but they started filming the shows recently.

I've heard LU is very WSX-ish, but that's just based on prelim results.

Im more interested in the possible DGUSA/EVOLVE Title unification and ending DGUSA as a whole.

Gabe tweeted VOW earlier on saying that they're going off of what is mostly rumours so this might be a case of the wait and sees.

I've heard LU is very WSX-ish, but that's just based on prelim results. Everything about it reeks of Mexican WSX. From the set to the booking to the people in charge. A little more reliant on name talent than WSX went for though.

Ricochet has been signed, but he's wrestling under a mask as "Prince Puma", which is pretty ridiculous given that (a) he's one of indy wrestling's biggest names, and (b) has a very recognisable body.
According to PWInsider, Lucha Underground has priority on his dates/PR appearances, but any time he's not needed, he can wrestle for EVOLVE and other companies.

Yeah, it's ridiculous for Ricochet to wear a mask. Although he might have come up with the Idea himself since he is the Open the Freedom Gate Champion and might want to avoid a situation like Michael Elgin and RoH. At least under a mask with a new identity it's okay for him to do jobs. Maybe he'll be himself again once he drops the title. Good on Lucha Underground for Allowing the workers to work for other companies. That is what WWE should be doing for its wrestlers/personnel. There are so many guys there who "aren't needed", mainly because they feel they aren't "good enough" or whatever, but they aren't allowing them to wrestle elsewhere in their free time and get better, despite the fact that their new hiring policies are heavily based around picking up seasoned Indy workers.
