It doesn't even look good and it costs way too much, that's the real problem.

There is just nothing good about that.
Emotionally jarring image evoking an awful moment in the university's/nation's history? Check.
Nearly having plausible deniability, but then CLEARLY putting the offending image in the front? Check.
Cashing in on a tragedy...and for $129, at that? Major check.
This is just jaw-dropping in how awful it is.

Clearly UA's design dept went to the Eric Bischoff school of PR/Marketing.

I hope no one has ever in their life bought a shirt for 129$. No matter what is on it.

I'm more offended at "Hurry! They're almost gone"
A $129 bleached out and tasteless sweatshirt....that's almost sold out.

I hope no one has ever in their life bought a shirt for 129$. No matter what is on it. The kicker is that most of their shirts are made in Malaysia or something so its not even like that $129 would go towards giving someone a fair wage. Hell I could make a "Crystal Lake" shirt for cheaper than that. T-shirt. Camp Crystal Lake logo. A paint brush and some red dye. BOOM.

Urban Outfitter's being stupid. There's a shock..... And if you want to call a sports team Jersey a shirt then yes I've done it more than a dozen times.

Doesn't Kent State have some control of its name on products being sold?

Doesn't Kent State have some control of its name on products being sold? I'm sure Urban Outfitters could try and scream parody... but even then UO got publicity out of it which is probably all they really wanted.

I buy shoes for 15 bucks. Jeans for 20. I literally couldn't care less what brand it is. Aslong as it does it's job and is cheap it's all good for me. I hate buying WWE shirts because they cost 25$ + shipping but sometimes you just gotta have all that Ambrose merch.

Not funny. I don't care if it's been 44 years.
Really? Everyone who sees it IMMEDIATELY thinks of the tragedy, but it never crossed your mind? You just randomly chose Kent State for your bloody college shirt?

"$129"
This is unquestionably a publicity stunt.

I had never heard of the Kent State shootings, so if their goal was to raise awareness over the incident, then they succeeded. We must learn from history, and just because this was a terrible event does not mean it should be forgotten.
Having said that, yeah....this is in pretty bad taste and not the best way to go about it.
