That is a lousy excuse. The Cleveland Browns have sucked hard for years and still had 97.3% capacity attendance last year. The Titans had 100.0% attendance for the third year of the Jake Locker Experience. Hell, the Jaguars still got 89.2% attendance last year (St. Louis had 87.2%) and they have sucked for about as long as any team has. Not everybody has money to spend to come to come to football games. Football tickets are some of the most expensive in sports. I really hate when people use that excuse. Especially in this day and age with the economy still in a mess. There's plenty of middle-class and rich people in every city and every state. If the team is worth watching, they'll be there.

My sentiments exactly. The Dome was fine when it was built but by 2002 it was antiquated and now its just worthless. The last stadium of its kind. Tell me what you think is so bad about the dome. I've never stepped foot inside of the Edward Jones Dome, so this is an outsiders' perspective, but the place has no aesthetic appeal. There's ugly beige bars and catwalks, it has no crisp, high-definition videoboard, and it just looks very cookie-cutter and dull, like the ashtray stadiums of the 1970s. It's Three Rivers Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, or Veterans Stadium with a roof. Yet it was built 25 years after those stadiums. It's also very suffocating. Most domed stadiums have windows to let in natural light, like Ford Field, or roofs that allowed you to know whether it was day or night outside, like the Georgia Dome. Compare the Edward Jones Dome, which opened in 1995, with Ford Field, which opened seven years later:

Well in my opinion I don't think the aesthetics of a stadium should effect your enjoyment of a game. I've never said that it did nor that it should. I was simply watching the game and every so often caught myself saying, "Wow, that place looks like a warehouse," a lot more than I do for most NFL stadiums, then listed the reasons why I think it looks like that.

However, your opinion is in the minority. The quality of the venue has a lot to do with how people enjoy the experience. Just like the setting of a vacation, the ambiance of a restaurant or the atmosphere of a club. These factor in significantly for a great deal of people. It's really no different for sports.

Especially in this day and age with the economy still in a mess. I never faulted anyone for not going to games if they themselves cannot afford the tickets. That is not fair. Having said that, enough fans of other lousy teams find a way to find the will to pay for the tickets. Granted, the Rams lowest ticket price is a little higher than some other teams ($55 for the Rams vs $41 for Titans, $45 for Lions and Jags) but they are not priced like routinely successful teams (lowest price for regular Patriots games are $75, while those same tickets are $99 for marquee games).

I think playing in Domes is crap anyway. Football is meant to be played in the elements I'll agree with one caveat. Those extreme cold weather stadiums like Minnesota and Green Bay, they can get away with a retractable dome. Lets face it, nobody should be running around outside in -30 degree wind chill temps playing a game, let alone fans having to sit in the stadium. Other than that absolutely. Seriously why does a team like Atlanta or New Orleans need a dome? Watching the Patriots suffer from heat stroke in Miami during week 1, I would never say that there is never any point in any team being a dome team. Even hot and humid places like Atlanta could make use of a dome. Besides, considering that teams get government help building these stadiums all of the time now it makes little sense for the government to not push for domes. Open air stadiums can only be used for football, monster trucks, and maybe soccer. The city/county/state would have a hard time making enough money off of an open air stadium for it to be worth it. For example, having the stadium built for the Colts be a retractable roof dome means that Indy can host the 2015 NCAA Men's Final Four in a facility that can seat 70,000, not the paltry >19,000 that the home of the Pacers can seat. That makes a huge difference.

Report from ESPN that Hoyer won't resign long term if Manziel is still on the team Ha! Good for him. He doesn't deserve to be second banana to Manziel. Hoyer is a proven QB who makes good decisions on the field, doesn't make a lot of drama, and is a hometown guy. You never let someone like that walk unless they ask for way too much money. And I wouldn't dare start Manziel over him.

There is no atmosphere whatsoever, it resembles a warehouse and on game day comes across as dead on TV whereas other stadiums are vibrant. I can argue the original turf shortened a good amount of careers. The seats are red in spite of the fact our colors are blue and gold. By modern day indoor stadiums standards, it is a full decade or two behind. SI rated it 31st on terms of Gameday experience and it draws no Super Bowl or any College teams aside from Missouri and Illinois years ago and even then there is no other venue in St. Louis to do it in aside from Busch. City sucks, stadium sucks, team sucks. We may deserve it for our shit play since 2004 but we don't have to take it. I'm fed up with road games against the Packers, Bears and Cowboys in OUR OWN f***ING BUILDING. This franchise is a joke until we get new coaches and a new city. I remember in Georgia's last year they seriously had to get a live band to fire up the crowd during a game, pathetic.

Adding to the Torn ACL List, Knowshon Moreno apparently tore his ACL in the Miami/Green Bay game, effectively ending his season and a dismal first year in Miami plagued with Injuries
And here I thought I got a steal when I got him off Waivers last week, damn it all...

I wouldn't be shocked to see him back in Denver next year on a team friendly 1, maybe 2 year deal. Gotta think Hillman is gone and it is going to take a miracle for Ball to regain the trust he's lost so this would give Peyton a guy he knows can deliver while they test out Bibbs, CJ and Thompson.
