for the U.S. Title, it's really the only thing left for Rusev before being fed to Cena.

The really should go whole hog with it and have him take the US title.

So long as afterward JBL shrieks about how Sheamus isn't a real American.

Does this mean Cena gets the US Title back after going over Russkie?

I'd be all for it - that match would be great!
I'm pretty sure it's the only reason they've kept the title on Sheamus so long now, and that's to have Rusev beat the unstoppable champion of the US. It's really the next logical step for Rusev unless they plan on hotshotting the feud with Cena.

Let Rusev get at least one belt before the Cena feud kills all his momentum.

Could be a great match. Not enough to get me to the show but could be fun.

If they are pushing the patriotism thing, then Big Show would make the most sense. If not, I would love Rusev vs Sheamus.

Rusev could win the belt then melt the gold into another star, and turn the strap into a sash to put the star on.

Putting the US title on Rusev seems like the obvious thing to do-which is why I'm king of glad they haven't done it. But yeah, he and Sheamus could probably have a pretty decent, short program before the inevitable Cena squashing happens. I imagine it would go something like Rusev claiming that, as US champion and undefeated, he is the deserving #1 contender and that he will prove it by defeating Cena. Cena breaks his streak, but in a non-title match.
And hey, if this leads to Sheamus turning heel and teaming with Cesaro and a returning Wade Barrett, bring it on!

I'm actually surprised they waited as long as they have, but I actually don't think Cena will be the first to beat Rusev... I think he'll be the first to do it clean. I expect Rusev to win the title, and down the line Cena costs him the title to somebody else (and knowing how WWE that person will be Kofi)

I think Rusev should beat Sheamus for the title and defend against Cena. It's time Cena goes back to the midcard and try to win back the title he made famouse even though he is no good compared to Rusev!

I'd love this match. Rusev's best assets are his speed and agility, and Sheamus would be the perfect opponent to play to his strengths. Let Cesaro be the man who beats Rusev. I am completely fine with Sheamus being undefeated to both Supermen.

If you want to elevate a midcard title there's worse ideas than giving it to Cena.

As long as it's defended and made to look like a big deal then i'm down Miz is a Superstar I'd cheer Cena over
