'WE WANT AJ!' ...so we can chant for 'CM Punk'. THIS is why CM Punk chants aren't really TAKE THAT AND SCREW YOU PEOPLE IN POWER like all the defenders claim it to be. It's a f***ing annoying chant to prove how smart and in-the-know you are which is obnoxious and pointless because even 10 year olds read dirtsheet sites and know wrestling is scripted.

It's really not. It was sincere for maybe two weeks. Then it started popping up during filler segments. Then only when AJ shows up. Then barely even when AJ shows up. Now only the hometown crowd does it, pretty much. There's nothing behind it.

I don't see the point of it.

In general I loved the crowd last night, when they chanted Michael Cole I lost it. If the crowd makes me smile and laugh, I can't complain!
I agree chanting Punk at AJ doesn't make sense, and in general doesn't seem that informed on how Punk chose to leave, but other than the AJ thing I don't mind it. It's nutty, but it beats a dull crowd.

If there is, and I doubt it's every week, it's usually for a few seconds during AJ's segment. There weren't any last RAW for example.

I love my hometown, but I wish they stop with the chant. Makes them look dumb. The dude left on his terms and there's a reasonable chance that he's never coming back. Seeing as how much he emulates Randy Savage, I could envision him completely closing the door on doing business with the WWE altogether. I can't wait for Punk to release his rap album.

"C-M-PUNK" is the new "WHAT" chant. It's what crowds chant when they're bored. It's noise filler for the sake of noise filler.
If it's sincere? Then it's really sad. He quit and he's not coming back. He doesn't care about you. Stop trying to hold onto something that doesn't exist like some weird, jaded ex.

It's showing support, I can understand that. I think it's whistling into the wind though, Punk seems perfectly happy out of things now.

Wasn't Punk originally banged up when he went on hiatus?
I know that at a certain point, he just made up his mind not to return, but I thought he was hurt initially.

another (by proxy at least) anti-Punk thread on FAN? Man...it's been so long.
Like...a whole few days n stuff.
At this point there should just be a buncha sticked threads at the top of this forum, save us a lotta time and clutter;
*Anti Roman Reigns/Wyatt Family/Dolph ZIggler Thread *Pro Roman Reigns/Wyatt Family/Dolph Ziggler Thread *Anti CM Punk Thread *Pro CM Punk Thread *Everything that's wrong with the product currently all purpose discussion thread

What was funny was Steph's promo was designed with a CM Punk chant in mind. She went right into a scripted promo starting from the very first line, based on the fact that the crowd would be chanting CM Punk.
If they hadn't been chanting it she would have needed to skip the first 2 minutes of her promo.

Post-Attitude era crowds (mainly thinking 2006-2008 crowds) sucked. Don't blame em, the product was stale, but it made for an even crappier show. So I'm good with any noise. And, the CM Punk chants are at times a show of disdain, mockery and resentment at the WWE product. Lord knows none of that goes around here.

I feel comfortable in saying these chants are officially less useful and even less relevant than the "What" chants. It's time to let it go. Just for that, the entire audience will sing "Let it Go" from Frozen. I would laugh my balls off if that happened.

I'm not sure what the fans who chant it actually want.
Should WWE kidnap CM Punk and force him to appear on the show?

At this point I found them more funny that annoying. I seriously doubt that still are idiots who thinks that chanting cm punk is a way to stick it against the powers that be.
Like, you paid your ticket and gave them money just to show displeasure in something that will not be worth anything? When people "hijacked" segments chanting for daniel bryan at least it felt like a way to achieve something (which it did) So in those cases, I endorse people chanting for things not related to the actual segment. But here, it feels like all those idiots who talk about changing the world yet they only do it through their pc
