Face Orton is always lame (to me), BUT current Heel Orton is stale.

Orton Cena Ambrose Reigns
The future isn't looking good for Mr. Rollins...
Hopefully Orton feuds with the demon Kane so I can give less of a shit.

I think the fact he's only one strike away means he'll never return to level of focus he enjoyed from 2007-2011. Granted, he was trailing off as a babyface anyways, even before the suspension, but come 2012, the 'sabbatical' saw his stock drop something major. Yes, he will always occupy semi-prominent roles, but the Age of Orton certainly seems to have ended.

Randy Orton is just not needed anymore because he is stale as hell.
Luke Harper being pushed as a singles guy is awesome because I truly feel he was the best out of the group. As long as he doesn't overdo it on the mic like Bray does, I can see the dude being a fave five kinda guy.

I don't want him to turn face because I feel he's more useful as a heel. A Face Orton will do nothing except hog a coveted uppercard spot, randomly beat someone like Miz or Cesaro, then said heel will beat someone on Superstars just so they can be "built up" to lose to Orton all over again the following week. Face Orton just keeps the entire roster stagnant for no reason and benefits no one.

He really needs to just go away for a while then the fans would miss him and want him back (not me I'll always hate him but objectively still)

Just switch him to a gimmick where he's backstage, and walks up to random people and says:
Knock, knock
Who's there?
Outa
Outa who?
*RKO*
OUTA NOWHERE!!!
That might make him entertaining for a couple of weeks if he wore a clown nose or something.

Orton, in my opinion, was/is at his best when he was a tweener booked individual who had no allies, didn't talk, and was just this vicious badass that fans actually got behind.

I mean Kofi Kingston beat Orton a earlier this year when he was WWE Champion, and that guy can barely get on Main Event now. It's less about him being heel or face, he could be either, but more about actually DOING something with him. Having him beat up Cesaro or Del Rio on Smackdown for shits and giggles isn't the same thing, but neither is just sticking him as an ineffective heel who no one benifits from beating like Kane is right now. Giving him actual back and forth feuds that aren't Ex-Shield members or Daniel Bryan/John Cena would freshen him up a ton, be it as a face, heel, tweener, or whatever.

Sweet if it means he faces Lesnar at The Rumble or something. Totally agree! At this point Orton/Lesnar would make so much sense from WWE's point of view; established star who they want to push down our throats taking on part-time main eventer. Basically the same match-up as Cena/Lesnar, but different enough to pique people's interest.

If he turns face. He needs to start hitting the mat to set up the RKO again. Its very unlikely that he will throw out his shoulder again and people would really pop to see it.

Orton vs Lesnar would be interesting, so I'm happy for Orton to at least turn tweener. They're setting up his dissatisfaction with the Authority, and it makes sense because there's no way he'd be happy playing enforcer for Seth Rollins. Even more so when Seth is getting himself into more trouble than he can handle.
But it would leave a bit of a hole in the main event heel spot. Seth and Kane? They'd need to push someone else up there too. Mark Henry getting a last heel run would be cool, but it looks like he's going to be squashing midcarders. The Authority bringing in Cesaro as their new guy would be a pretty nice move.

I think Face Orton is the perfect opponent to face Lesnar after Cena. Orton be like Cena was afraid to go there to beat Lesnar, well I'm not. And threaten to kick Lesnars skull in.

Face or Heel I'm just completely sick of Orton now. This last heel run he's had has been terrible.
He's done everything already and he's just so incredibly stale. The lack of a proper rival is really apparent with stuff like this, if WCW were still going and was still a big deal Orton could move on and be completely refreshed.
