Bret vs Bob Backlund from I believe Superstars 1993. That was the match Backlund lost and turned heel afterwards.

Not true to the spirit of the thread, but Bad News and Bret were last two in the WM4 Battle Royale and were both heels, Bret turned after Bad News screwed him

WWF TV shows in 1998 (mostly RAW & Heat) had a few like Kane & Mankind vs The Rock & Owen or Austin & Taker vs New Age Outlaws

Bret Hart as WWF Champion defending against fellow babyface Virgil on Superstars once in, I wanna say, early 1993.

I remember once my brother rented a Colosseum tape (I'd like to say Supertape 2 or another tape from around 90-91) that had a Koko B.Ware VS Tito Santana match on it.

Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts on an old SNME is awesome. Bullshit finish, but that makes sense with two heels.

Beverley Brothers v. Money Inc. from an early Raw. I've never seen it, but I remembered it happened.

I remember a great Steven Regal/Ultimo Dragon match around 97 on PPV. Both guys were heels but the fans cheered for Regal.
Mr. Wondeful Paul Orndorff, who I think was a heel, vs. Disco Inferno on Nitro in early 96. Ended with Orndorff spiking Disco right on his head with a back suplex. Later that night the Horsemen took him out with a spike piledriver on the concrete.

No one mentions Rick Martel vs Shawn Michaels? That was one of my fave comedy matches ever! Page 2. Watts liked to do heel/heel feuds in Mid-South/UWF. Always liked how the various factions didn't get along. John Tatum vs. Eddie Gilbert over Missy, Freebirds vs. Devastation Inc., not to mention the big title change just after Crockett bought the promotion, Big Bubba Rogers defeating One Man Gang for the UWF belt.

How about Fit Finlay vs. Lord Steven Regal in what was the essentially the debut of the Iron Circle match? They had a sick parking lot brawl on Nitro in 1996.

I'm looking at old WWF PPV events and found one (I think). On the Wrestling Classic on Nov.8/85, during the opening round of the tournament, Moondog Spot beat Terry Funk by count-out.

Bam Bam vs Typhoon in 1993. Audience started chanting "Bam Bam" and sided with the biggest heel in the company sans Yokozuna. When you run heel vs heel they are going to pick and cheer for one.
And it wasn't Attitude era that popularized these kind of matches, it was WCW that did it on a regular basis but it was Nitro era that really made high profile matches between same sides common thing.

Typhoon turned heel!? I'm pretty sure he spent the first half of '93 as a face JTTS before leaving for WCW.

Bam Bam Bigelow vs Bastion Booger in early 1994 for the affections of Luna Vachon.
Sensational Sherri vs The Fabulous Moolah in 1987, and I am pretty sure Moolah wrestled Leilani Kai as well at one point.
