Reigns is going to keep getting that push just due to having less mileage on his body. He's likely to last longer on top than Ambrose and especially Bryan - meaning that he's the "reliable" guy, seen as a less risky investment than the indy vets. Hell, Trips (but not Vince) may even have it as a plan to have Reigns as the long-term top star, with the indy guys being his pool of awesome challengers who can guarantee consistently excellent matches, much like how Hogan faced the best heels and monsters of the territory era.

Orton didn't get the push Cena and Batista did, and Reigns is heading for, because he's much better as a heel. They tried to give him the pretty boy superface push, and it failed almost immediately. Orton turned heel less than half a year after winning the title and turning face the first time because he gives off such a natural smug vibe and doesn't have the moveset needed to be a face. Even if he kept being a shithead (which seemed to wane by that time, according to most accounts), they would have sucked it up ala HBK if he was clicking as a face. Cena was pretty much the last resort of the OVW four. He was on the chopping block until Stephanie heard him rapping backstage and then came up with the rapper gimmick for him. And even then, the rapper gimmick started out as a glorified comedy jobber gimmick. Orton by comparison, was constantly rubbing elbows with legends and booked to go over them. They pushed Orton as a heel, but the goal they had in mind to build up his credibility so they could turn him face down the line. WWE doesn't push heels to be top heels. They've been spoiled by The Rock, Austin, and DX, and only wish to push heels to get them over enough to be top faces. Even The Shield are examples of this. WWE WANTS Orton to be their guy, but they're stuck with Cena because he's flat out better. I honestly believe that WWE's bad booking of Cena is them subtly trying to screw him over for not being Randy Orton. Well, you're right about Cena being the unwanted child of the OVW 2002 class, at least at first. They clearly had plans for him at his debut, but ironically he was lost in the shuffle of how stacked SmackDown was at the time. He was more Vince's idea of what he wanted out of a talent rather than what Heyman was pushing at the time, and would probably have been the only person who debuted in the Ruthless Aggression era would have been better off on Raw. He was totally saved by his rapping ability, there's no question about that. I was more referring to the period following WM 20, when they pushed Orton to the moon as a face, saw he was faltering, and changed course for the entire company. There is no other explanation for Orton going from smiling All-American babyface to RKOing Stacy Keibler within a month. It wasn't personal issues, because if Vince wants to push you, he doesn't give a damn how much you put into your body as long as you keep making him money. Orton is, in my mind, a great wrestler who isn't the man, but the guy the man chases after, at least in WWE-booking land. While they had every intention of having Orton instead of Batista as long-term WHC, it just wasn't meant to be. About that Cenaspiricy, I have to totally disagree with you. Cena is Vince's dream, a good looking bodybuilder who kids and women love and can more than handle his own in-ring. Again, think HBK without raging personal issues. The issue is that they've built their brand around Cena so much that they risk the stock price dropping considerably, if only temporarily, if they try to ween off the current cash cow. That's the issue with an entertainment company who only provides one source of income; it becomes nearly impossible to change creative direction without losing money and investors in the short term. While going public made Vince hundreds of millions, if he doesn't let HHH and Steph or whoever else is in control of the creative direction change the current Cena-centric model, the product will continue to suffer as long as Cena can be the workhorse he has been for a decade.

I think a long lasting face of company needs to be funny and charismatic to keep fans attention. Cena...austin...rock...hogan all had it and so does ambrose. Reigns is more like batista...luger...warrior.

It's gonna' be interesting to see how they handle both guys' pushes once Reigns gets back. I think both are gonna' be at the top of the card come next Mania.
Though if WWE does decide to go forward with Ambrose as their top guy, he desperately needs new music and a new finisher, because his current ones are terrible. Well, Dirty Deeds is good in theory, but nobody on the roster other than Kofi knows how to bump for the damn move.

Orton/Authority is going to interfere in Ambrose/Cena giving Ambrose a shady cheap win or DQ win, giving Cena the motivation to fight Orton later that night, and that way Ambrose and Cena only really have to work one "real" match each.

If they plan to go that route, then I don't see why they couldn't have just booked Ambrose/Rollins and Cena/Orton to begin with. This whole "Seth Rollins Must Die" angle would just be a colossal waste of time.

Roman and Ambrose and Bryan and Seth can all get pushes. If WWE kills any of their pushes at the expense of the others, they're even f***ing stupider than I thought they were.

Roman will be pushed again but really he is the guy or the next guy to take Cena's spot? I don't think so. Watch his promo on Raw Monday and clearly he looked off and wasn't show the Main Face mic skill that everyone else had before him. If he going to be the guy he still need work on the promo side of telling the story. Some say he doesn't need it but in the WWE world it seems to be the case.
