We need someone to photoshop Bo's head onto HBK's Playgirl spread. That's the kind of nightmare fuel that would quickly kill this thing.
Seriously though, WWE is not Dragon Gate. The aim is not to get the women in the audience wet... with persperation.

Because there are easier ways of finding sexually appealing images online, without the need to sit through wrestling matches and inane comedy segments to get a fix.

Actually, WWE's promotional machine used to try to convince us that every woman in the world wanted John Cena.

They don't need to do it on the show itself but more photoshoots like they did with Fandango would be nice.

I'm a guy, I have zero idea what women find attractive. But whenever WWE shills the idea of Cena as a heartthrob, al I can think of is those monkey faces he used to make.

Imo, Cena's "sexiest" years were his early years as well as his recent return from injury up to now.

People already don't take female wrestling fans seriously, this wouldn't help

Because for every female you draw in with a sex symbol male superstar, you'll likely lose 2 straight male fans along with it. are you serious? really? I think 2Pac once said sth like this about popularity: "once you get the chicks, the guys will follow"

I meant by other (i.e. male) wrestling fans. If men have to judge people for watching a show as wrestlers look good then that's their/societies problem, not female fans problem. Male wrestling fans are hardly regarded as the highest form of organic life form in terms of...well, anything. We're all lowest common denominator tools to everyone, so the whole "play up the sex appeal of men sometimes" idea isn't that big of a deal really.

If you're a Diva you can have a buttress face but you're paraded as some kind of 'everyman fantasy figure', yet they're always boasting about their female audience and they have a roster with some fairly good looking guys on it, given individual tastes, yet they make nothing of it. Surely these guys should be actively promoted as sex-symbols and targeted at female audiences an do photoshoots and interviews for female-targeted magazine publications the same way as boy bands do. It just seems odd that they take no advantage of this whatsoever but almost every Diva they've ever had they treat and promote like everyone in the world must want to have sex with them. Call it the 1996 Shawn Michaels effect. When your demo is mostly men and adolescent boys, the last thing you should do is paint your company as some kind of male model calendar, because said fanbase will reject them out of combinations of jealousy to it not being what they want out of wrestling (like Michaels' shtick in 96). There's enough soulless hunk bullshit catered to shallow women out there as is. I think making a concentrated effort to manufacture it in wrestling and create that division would not be wise. To me, it'd be the equivalent of putting dudes who look like Duck Dynasty on girls' favorite reality shows, talking trucks, hunting, beer and other stereotypical guy horseshit. That would ruin the show for them at the expense of trying to cater to a shallow market who doesn't even like the core product in the first place. Wrestling is best as it is. Men and women, as fans, can appreciate it for what it is. And those who just want shallow visuals can still do so alone without the narrative forcing it on everyone else. Very true. I remember being a kid and liking 96 Shawn Michaels but then when I heard about the Playgirl thing I was thinking "what is going on?" and was very confused, same with how his image was before that point. Vince was smart in painting 96 Shawn the way he was painted.

f*** off Andrew with your feminism nonsense. Ok, now that we got that response out of the way first and foremost, here we go. So, one of the main reasons WWE doesn't attempt to recognize the sex appeal of their male stars, is because women are viewed more or less as body parts, where as men are viewed as a whole person. I heard that awhile ago and I quickly found it on the again. www.scientificamerican.com/article/our-brains-see-men-as-whole-women-as-parts/newsroom.unl.edu/blog/?p=1202www.cbc.ca/news/technology/men-seen-as-whole-women-as-body-parts-1.1275015One important thing to mention here before the MRA's get after me, women do it to to other women. So it's a human thing. Now granted, we could all stop and that and say, well, that means it's ok to objectify women because it's natural or whatever, but this is 2014 and we've grown above that base line way of thinking, and it's good to raise consciousness and realize what we are doing and how we are perceiving people. Women can still be draws because while most of the women are presented as walking vaginas, once in a blue moon you get a female talent who ends up getting over, someone like say, AJ Lee, Trish Stratus, Lita, etc. These people become literally more then the sum of their parts. WWE can still slightly recognize talent sex appeal in men, but it's more subtle. They're still attractive in a certain sense, but it's not their defining trait, where as with the women, you'll see a lot of bashing of looks and what not.

You don't have to make their sex appeal part of the show but I think it's strange how it isn't marketed at all. TV actors, movie stars, musicians don't necessarily play the 'I'm so sexy' roles in their day jobs but they're marketed towards the audience through other vehicles in that way. The guys in WWE don't seem to be at all which seems to be a huge blind-spot in their marketing and promotional strategy. They're happy to let Diva's be the pin-up icons of teenage boys why not let the superstars be the pin-up icons for teenage girls. One they seem to actively encourage to a point of saturation and the other they bizarrely seem to want to deny exists. As if they're concerned floating the idea would seem a bit "gay" The Males wear less stuff than the females and are more oiled up. There is a reason why all the male superstar have amazing bodies and only wear underwear to the ring and it isn't all for comfort.

They should give Seth an erotic wrestler gimmick where he wears too tight trunks, uses sexual moves and his matches feature gratuitous crotch closeups. That sounds like something a dowm on his luck indy wrestler with a weird screamo kid gimmick would do for a quick buck.
