Eh, we all expected it but there's a real chance for this to blow up in their faces if it hasn't been programmed right (and let's be honest, WWE Network hasn't had the greatest first year in terms of bugs).

Don't mind there being ads. As long as they don't end ip interrupting shows with ads. That would suck
It could be worse...

What bugs have there really been? My service has froze once for about 20 seconds during MITB(I think) and that's more or less it. I watch it most nights too albeit mostly the on demand content.

I meant more with the apps themselves rather than the service. It's far better now than it was at first I'll admit, but I don't hold out much hope for this ad system to be that great at first.

Yep, just received that particular e-mail. Way to make your struggling VOD service worse, WWE. Really makes me regret renewing. Eh? Overreact much? Here's what you can expect: • No commercial breaks during scheduled programming • Limited advertising between shows • Occasional advertising before our video-on-demand content So basically like Youtube. God forbid you have to wait 20 seconds to watch a video. Good business move and literally has zero impact on whether I want to carry on subscribing or not. If a person is paying for a subscription service, wherein there was no ads, and suddenly, after they've gotten your money, they decide to change that, that person is ABSOLUTELY ENTITLED to complain. And your YouTube analogy is meaningless. It's not a pay service. Signing up after knowing there were ads (it doesn't matter when they are), and then complaining, I could see the argument. But its WWE who has altered the prior arrangement here without the paid customers knowledge, and after they have committed to the payment plan. That's scummy.

Well I'm cancelling, its absolutely outrageous no matter how you spin it.
The reason I put up with advertising on Youtube, websites and most video sites is they are free, so adverts are fine.
I refuse to double pay. Imagine if Netflix aired an advert before each video you played?
Its Outrageous and I cannot believe people are defending it.

I'm not going to get myself worked up in a lather over a 30-second ad before I watch a three-hour video. But what I am getting myself worked up in a lather over is the fact that they have added little to no new content in their on-demand library since the Clash of the Champions and Saturday Night's Main Event were added in the spring. WWE owns almost every piece of major American professional wrestling ever videotaped, would it behoove them to add something here or there?

Content I can handle, the fact it doesn't resume playback, freezes for long periods when moving around in video, still a terrible search engine...after all this time...and they have the nerve to implement advertising over such basic functions.
Hell no. Enoughs enough.

I think that is fair to cancel a service just because you dont want to see ads there.
That being said, if your enjoyement of the product is affected by a 30 sec commercial between the shows, then, maybe the product wasnt really important to you

What if before each one Lord Alfred says "Promotion consideration paid for by the following." ?

I think it's being precious for the sake of being precious.

But WWE has said since day 1 that while the service would start ad free, they were going to be adding ads down the line. This is far from a surprise or changing terms on people, it is doing something they have told people they'd do since at least the first conference call on it. There is no entitlement to bitch about a surprise when the only way this souls surprise you is if you paid zero attention to anything since January of this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the legal fine print in the user agreement we accept when signing up says that WWE reserves the right to run advertisements at any time at their discretion. We probably agreed that they could when we signed up.

Well, I just saw my first ad that wasn't for Hire Heroes USA or something Network-related. It was for a product called Pure Talk.
If you check the FAQ page, it does say that "there will be limited promotional content and advertising within and between select programs." I'm pretty sure this was on the page since day one, so today's announcement isn't a huge shock to me.
And there's always the MUTE button.

I wish I had an important enough life that sitting through a short commercial before watching WCW Greed in its entirity was a hassle.
It sucks, but its not ruining anything for me.

I'm just surprised that people have been okay with commercials airing in every PPV event since the Network started, hurting things that way- but one before the videos, THAT'S the line!
