Lets say some miracle happened and the fans were happy with Batista winning the Rumble. What would be the current state of the WWE right now? Would Batista still take time off? Would the Shield still break up? Would Bryan have gotten injured?

Batista would win the title, and of course Batista would still take time off, he'd just drop the title in a telegraphed changed on a B-show instead of having an amazing match with The Shield.
I think if Batista had the slightest HINT of fan goodwill after the Rumble they'd never have turned him heel again.

Bryan would have beaten HHH at Mania, and then I think Batista would have turned heel after Mania, aligned with HHH, and lost the title to Bryan at Extreme rules, or the next month, if the butterfly effect somehow kept Bryan from getting injured.

I could see that. I believe that a Bryan/HHH match would have and should have main evented over the planned Batista/Orton title match, so that could've been Big Dave's reason for turning heel.

If this happened, Bryan and Sheamus may have finally gotten to actually steal the show at a WrestleMania.
No match getting bumped to the pre-show, and then getting the match's format changed twiceafter it already started, no 18 seconds, a chance for two that have always had amazing in ring chemistry together a chance to have a spectacular match at 'Mania.

I'm sure anyone could tell you that Batista turning heel, losing at WrestleMania, joining Evolution, and leaving the way he did was not the original plan when he returned and everyone who attended the Royal Rumble and boo'd Batista out of the building should feel proud for that.

Batista would have taken the time off regardless to promote Guardians and do the movies he was signed up for, and he will probably return this year too, as much as he's critical of WWE's handling of him, he still sees it as money and exposure.
I think the plan was always to have Bryan involved, whether Batista was well received of not, mainly because Orton and Batista is a pretty unimpressive main event regardless of if Batista was well liked or not.

Thank god we got it right that night

No, I think the plan was always for Batista and Orton to main-event Wrestlemania because someone thought it was money. Thank god it didn't happen.

Possibly, we get Orton/Batista and Bryan/Triple H. Reportedly it was supposed to be Bryan/Sheamus, but I think Punk leaving would have still led to changing it to Bryan and Triple H. However, if Batista was over like WWE wanted then they probably would have just done done Batista and Orton one-on-one.

I wonder if we would have gotten the dream match between Batista and Brock as well.

Sorry guys, but Bryan still would have been out. The injury wasn't a new thing, it was just something he was working through, and it finally hit the point where he had to get it operated on.

Batista vs. Brock WAS a dream match for me a decade ago. Not any longer. Lesnar's MMA accolades ruin the idea of them being two equal forces colliding. And it would be ridiculous if WWE tried to sell Batista as an MMA badass on the level of Brock

Why the F*** didn't they have him as a surprise entrant? Why'd it have to leak out? The crowd would have lost their minds if Batista came back out of nowhere.

I actually think that if Batista had been cheered, most of the pro-Bryan people on the net would have sighed, accepted that WWE's banking on a nostalgia-ish act was indeed a good business move for the casual fans, and grumbled constantly about how badly Bryan had been buried.
Instead, we got pretty definitive proof that there's a much smaller gap than had been assumed between casual and hardcore fans.
