Matt Harvey is back y'all. First start in a year and half in less than 3 hours.

The Mets lost the type of game I absolutely hate yesterday: a seeing-eye single leads to a home run (one of the very few mistakes deGrom made yesterday in a solid pitchers duel), meanwhile 99% of the hard hit stuff the Mets connect with winds up in somebody's glove. There's a part of me that prefers to get blown out to losing that way; blowouts suck, but at least you know "well, so much for that" earlier on, and don't get as frustrated. Still, good to see deGrom and the bullpen perform well, and hopefully the hitters focus on having made some good contact and not letting the bad BABIP luck get in the way. On the very bright side: HARVEY DAY. RISE! Since I live in the area, do any of you guys trust the Orioles to be successful and go far? I have them as the second Wild Card team in the AL, but admittedly the AL East is kind of wide open and hard to predict. I do think they'll be in contention, at least.

Since I live in the area, do any of you guys trust the Orioles to be successful and go far? Orioles have been one pitcher or bat away from world series contenders for the last 2 years. Even though the rotation doesn't have an ace, it's still missing that marquee guy. Love Tillman, love Chen, Norris is decent, but the 4th and 5th starters are suspect. Buck knows how to manage a bullpen. Hitting wise...they have a gaping hole at second base, and they don't really have an every day left and right fielder. I keep telling my friends if you combine the Nats/O's rosters and take the top 25 total, you'd probably have a dynasty. Nats need offense, O's need pitching.

I'm glad I have off this week. I haven't been off for Opening Day/week in a while. Excited to see Harvey again today!

Now I'm not saying this should or will happen but doesn't it seem like the ultimate Mets thing to happen would be Harvey after throwing his first regular season pitch in over a year needs Tommy John again?

Ian Desmond is a pretty bad defensive infielder.

Mets have gotten 6 unearned runs this series. Nats pitchers have gotta be pissed at Desmond.

It's amazing to me Desmond turned down a $107 million contract extension. I'm a Nats fan and I honestly can't stand the guy, average defense, pretty much swings at everything in sight. I fail to see how he gets that in the open market.

The Indians are taking a team no hitter against the Astros into the 9th.
Jed Lowrie homers with 1 out in the 9th to end it

Orioles acquired RHP Ben Rowen and C Chris O'Brien from the Dodgers for RHP Ryan Webb, C Brian Ward, and a 2015 competitive balance pick (No. 74 overall).

After this first series, I'm not sure if the Royals are that good...or the White Sox are that bad.

Miguel Castro became the youngest Blue Jay to record a save (he's 20) and the youngest pitcher in the MLB to do so since Rick Ankiel in 1999.

After this first series, I'm not sure if the Royals are that good...or the White Sox are that bad. Both, if Chicago's sluggish game against the Twins is any indication...ugh. Royals were fun to watch.
