The Yankees are the game of the week next Sunday night & at home. I hope he passes Willie Mays on the all time home run list that night. It's gonna be so hysterical to watch

LaRoche, 3-4 with a 3-run shot and a double, Abreu 3-4 with a Grand Slam and double, and Melky Cabrera going 4-for-4...all before the 5th inning was over. Sox pound the Tigers 12-3; 4 runs in the 4th and a 7-spot in the 5th chased Annibal Sanchez from the game.
Fine until you realize they only seem to produce offense for Chris Sale and nobody else.

jerry blevens had to leave the game for the mets after taking a line drive off the forearm and now travis d'arnaud gets hit on the hand and has to leave if the mets continue to get injured that's not good

Two bad injuries but the Mets win again and are the first team to get to 10 wins i the NL.
Adam Rubin reports that Vegas catcher Kevin Plawecki will get the call. Plawecki ranked as the #5 prospect in the mets system by BP who says he should turn into a average to solid-average catcher.

Vin Scully called his first Dodgers game 65 years ago today. Amazing. I say this as a Giants fan, that man is a national treasure, we should bronze him.

I was there today; I kept myself hoping they were being taken out as a precaution, but then I went into the bar at the stadium and saw the headline splash on SNY. I thought it'd be bad news when Wright went down, but the team is weathering the storm without him. Now they're losing their most effective LOOGY in Blevins and their third hottest hitter in d'Arnaud. That's...not good at all. But like you say, this is what rebuilding a farm system is all about, right? Having depth. Plawecki has his chance to shine now; maybe he'll struggle the way d'Arnaud did his first half season, but he at least has the talent to do well. Robles is coming up for Blevins; while he's a righty, he's pitched well to lefties throughout his minor league career, and he's been consistently throwing 96 mph so far this young season (thought Thornton would get the call, instead, but Robles is definitely intriguing). Man oh man, though: Wheeler, Edgin, Mejia, Wright, d"Arnaud, Black, Parnell, Blevins...and you still have people demanding the Mets trade some of their young pitching. You can never have too much pitching depth, folks, and the Mets are about to put that to the test, along with catching depth. At least Wright is working his way back. Ugh, never felt so annoyed after a sweep, though. d'Arnaud is the third Met this week to get a pitch to the hand.

I hate pace of play arguments and I hate the fact that Major League Baseball appears willing to bastardize the sport to shave 10-15 minutes off the game time. That said, the only way I'd accept pace of play rule changes is if they could guarantee a game like what we saw from the Reds and Cardinals tonight. The game went two hours and two minutes. I'm not willing to see drastic changes in baseball if it means a three-hour game becomes two hours and 45 minutes, but if they can cut it to a solid two hours? Then you have my attention.
