Surprised it hadn't been mentioned on here already but the Red Sox fired pitching coach Juan Nieves

Considering Thor throws almost 100 with a sharp curve and an improving change up, I doubt it Noah Syndergaard is a female? the old thor

Bryce Harper hit a walkoff HR for the Nationals to once again beat the Braves. This was his 6th HR in three games.

I'm honestly not expecting a ton from the Mets right now: they're playing 20 games in 20 days, and I just want them to go 11-9. The catch is that if they can pull that off, I'll take it as a great sign that the team can still play well before Wright and d'Arnaud are back. Glad they pulled it out tonight, but this (lack of) offense is driving me insane; at this point, I feel like the Mets are on Planet Namek, d"Arnaud is Piccolo waiting with King Kai, and David Wright is Goku healing up in that weird medicine chamber.
PS -
Dear Bryce Harper,
Stop being good.
Sincerely, Mets fans

The last time #Astros homered in each of the first 3 innings of a game: Oct. 2, 2004 (Craig Biggio, Jeff Kent, Biggio).

Mets take two of three in Philly, as they should. Too bad they couldn't win on Harvey Day and make it a sweep, but I'll take it. Great to see them actually hit today, but we'll see how much of that was a legitimate wakeup for the lineup, and how much of it was getting to face a not-so-great Philly pitching staff. If they can just go 2-2 against Chicago then they'd be 6-3 in the first 9 games of a 20-straight-day stretch of games before getting three at home against the Brew Crew, but with deGrom, Thor, and Harvey going against the Cubs I'd love for them to aim higher.
They'll need to, because meanwhile, the Nats come from behind AGAIN against the Braves. Watched it as the free game on MLB.tv, neither team looked very good, but the Braves are finally settling into where they're probably destined for the rest of the year: firmly entrenched in fourth place. Yet another horrible blown game against Washington. Nats are 10-2 in their last 12, and Harper's basically carrying them, so they're probably only going to get better.
The only piece of the NL East puzzle that's yet to settle into any sort of firm "ok, now we know who/what they are" place is the Marlins. Just under .500, but a great run after a crappy start...any way to know yet on them?

Alright this needs to be said back when the Yankees traded for Michael Pineda I was against it, I thought why get rid of one of the organizations top prospects at a position they needed. well I'm glad I was wrong that game he pitched today was a thing of beauty and I'm glad he's in pinstripes.
Also who would have thought he'd be the Yankees top guy this year, I think most people thought that the rotation would live and die by Tanaka's arm.

Pineda's always been a dynamite talent; now and forever, his issue will always be his health. He's young enough that it's possible he's worked past his injury history, but even if he puts together a Cy Young-worthy year in 2015 (which he very well may), it'd still be dangerous for the Yankees to assume he'll be healthy going forward until he has a couple healthy seasons in a row.

The Red Sox are lucky that Deflategate is taking the attention away from them right now. I am loving your signature image now because of it. Though yeah, Nieves can only do so much with that rotation. Only Colorado has a worse ERA. Though it is Colorado, so we don't count them.
