The Cubs complete the four game sweep of the Mets, now four games above .500 in mid-May. Probably the most impressive the Cubs have been all season.

Chris Heston threw a gem tonight against the Astros.. Complete game 2-hitter with 10 Ks. What a much needed surprise he's been for the Giants this year. I didn't expect this kind of success at all. Absolutely huge with Cain always hurt and Peavy also on the DL. And little known backup infielder Matt Duffy keeps making it really hard to continue starting Casey McGehee at third, with 5rbis. As a reserve player he is now second on the Giants with 15rbi, and always seems to deliver in the clutch. Casey McGehee on the other hand... I predicted he'd be the worst position player in baseball, and he is indeed proving me very right. 10 strikeouts? That's just precious.

Looks like Josh Hamilton is getting close to starting for the Rangers.
I hope he has a hell of a year just to spite the assholes who run the Angels.

With all due respect, I still don't understand how Josh Hamilton wasn't suspended.
Cocaine is on the banned substances list. Does confessing to using a banned substance absolve one of guilt? I understand that an independent arbitrator ruled on it, but how does it get that far to begin with? Shouldn't Hamilton have been suspended for using a banned substance in the first place?

Alex Rodriguez went 2-for-4 and hit his ninth homer Thursday in a losing cause against the Rays.

Hamilton probably should have been suspended. I don't disagree with. My problem is that the Angels tried to use that as a way to f*** him out of the contract that they themselves offered him. Which is just scummy.

Honestly I don't know. But self-reporting is a hugely positive thing, in these sorts of things. And he didn't actually test positive, and the language is so freaking weird as to be annoying. But I don't condone anything, however the CBA does promise privacy until such time as they are suspended. And with Hamilton that was breached and breached badly. So maybe the lack os suspension was sort of because of that? As realistically even Rob Manfred breached the confidentiality. When you have made Olbermann WANT Selig back, you are probably screwing up.

Cardinal finally get that long awaited series win vs the Indians. Now back home to face the Tigers. If Carlos Martinez pitched like he did his last two starts, this could be an offensive game for the ages in more ways than one.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Nationals have "made it clear" to the Rockies that they'd want to be involved if Troy Tulowitzki trade talks ever got serious.

Was hoping the Cubs-Pirates could go a couple of more hours, run into the Sox game at 9.

Sox take 2-0 lead in the 1st, give up 6 runs, then score a 5-spot in the 7th, then hold on and beat Oakland 7-6.
Whoohoo!

For the first time since August 2011, the Cubs have won 6 in a row.
