Certainly not expecting the Mets' offense to keep this up (though hopefully there'll be good news with Wright possibly being back this coming week), but if deGrom has rediscovered his 2014 mojo, that's huge. Hopefully there's a lot of truth to the report they had during the game, that he and Dan Warthen (pitching coach) watched a lot of tape and made appropriate adjustments...fingers crossed.

I think he's done in terms of being an all-star. Can he still be serviceable? Of course. But a difference maker? This isn't the same 2007-2008 non injury prone David Wright who had pop in his bat

For the first time since August 2011, the Cubs have won 6 in a row. was at the game today! great seeing Bryant/Rizzo as that new bash brothers deal. Lester delt with the baserunners really well and pitched a good game. this is a young team and we will have ups and downs but man, this has been the most fun ive had watching a cubs team since 2008!

Did the crowd groan collectively when Schlitter came in the game? Seriously, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he doesn't belong on a major league roster. Desperate times truly do call for desperate measures.

If Arod keeps it up this season the Yankees will have two members in the 3000hit club 30 hits away

They keep Edwin around with his World Series ring for the kids to rub for luck before each game.

White Sox take advantage of another costly Oakland error, win 4-3. 4 wins in a row and 8 of 11. They are also one game below .500.
Oakland currently riding a 13-game streak in which they've committed at least one error a game, tying a franchise record from 1983. Hey, congratulations A's!

What I think you're right on about, however, is that the day of having him in the lineup 150+ times a year are long over.

I was at that the game to. Brian Schlitter did get conway'd pop'd. But he sure did great deal of heat while he was walking off the field. Everyone behind me was calling him Brian Shitter.

I'd be disappointed if David Wright doesn't retire a Met.

Wright won't get traded (dude's not getting younger, and that contract is pretty big), but whenever he's in the lineup he'll be a welcome, All Star level addition for at least a few more years, I'll wager.

Big development here, keeping it as a spoiler for obvious reasons... {Spoiler}Shelby Miller has a no-no heading into the 9th for the Atlanta Braves.
