Miller's no-no broken up in the 9th with two outs. Damn it Shelby! I was rooting for you!

which is unfortunate but i think people are getting too fast to want to want to trade him David wright is the reason why i like the mets so i may be bias but i don't want to trade him Those are the same fans who probably thought "the Mets will never win anything with Carlos Beltran", even though Beltran was the best centerfielder (and arguably best outfielder, with only Strawberry as his competition) in Mets history. Wright won't get traded (dude's not getting younger, and that contract is pretty big), but whenever he's in the lineup he'll be a welcome, All Star level addition for at least a few more years, I'll wager. People still hate Beltran for that one strikeout rather than everything else he's done. He was fantastic on the Mets. It's like how people remember Bill Buckner for that error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series while ignoring that he was a great fielder, that he had no business playing that day (as he was very sick), and the Red Sox still could've won Game 7, which they didn't.

Such a terrible run team. Remember when the owner said it was going to be different this year

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Sunday that the club is leaning towards having Josh Hamilton (shoulder) make his season debut during the May 25-27 series versus the Indians.

The Marlins are STILL paying Ozzie Guillen, and signed Redmond to an extension last year through '17.

Hello .500, White Sox! Beat Oakland 7-3. First sweep of the A's in Oakland in 18 years.
Oakland committed 4 more errors, breaking a franchise record for consecutive games with at least one. (14)

Now that was some good pitching by Paxton. I have a feeling the Mariners will start to heat up by the end of the month and won't stop.

There's still time for the Fish to turn things around and have a solid year, but I seriously hope they don't, both because I hate that organization (mostly hatred of Loria and some bad, bad memories as a Mets fan), and because I want all the prognosticators who picked them to win 88+ games and make the playoffs look extra stupid.

I think they have to make top-down changes to their organization if they want to be a contender again and stay that way. I don't think a new skipper is going to make a difference.

So GM Dan Jennings is to be named new Marlins manager. This club...lets pay two managers to sit on their ass and make this guy manager.

Dan Jennings is set to be the new Marlins manager. He was already their GM, not sure if he'll fulfil both roles together.

I keep saying it, but baseball can't rest on its laurels with this. It's great to win ratings battles like that, but for one thing it isn't terribly surprising: baseball has become super regional, but almost all leagues (NFL excluded) have a regional bias to them, so of course the Rangers/Caps game won't draw great in, say, Cleveland. Secondly, it's still an audience largely comprised of older viewers who still aren't being replaced quickly enough by younger fans. Baseball has got to address that ASAP.

Astros purchased the contract of RHP Lance McCullers from Triple-A Fresno.
He will make his debut against the A's tonight
