How is calling someone bumblebee racist? Ricardo Rodriguez was short, fat and wrestled a high-flying style. He looked like a bumblebee. Supercrazy was short, fat and wrestled a high-flying style. He looked like a bumblebee. This doesn't say to me that Triple H is racist. Just that he needs to dig up another book on nicknames rather than using the same one for two different guys. Yeah, I don't get it either. Not saying HHH is or isn't racist since I don't know the guy, but "Bumblebee" just seems like a nickname that happens to have been used for multiple guys. I don't know.

I don't doubt any of this for a second. A bunch of old white guys that have been in THIS BUSINESS for 30+ years? There's gonna be some racist jokes. But, those guys see it as harmless a "heyyy come on we're kidding around don't be so sensitive" situation. They're out of touch with the real world, and the real world is rapidly changing.
However, I can't see something actually happening out of this. What would it be, Vince and Triple H are removed from power by the government, and new, un-racist COOs and CEOs are put in place?

I don't think he's genuinely racist, he's just so blinded by his own overinflated sense of self worth that he can't see that his comments often come across as far more mean spirited than he intends. He's laughing, other people are laughing, so the person he's mocking must be in on the joke too when in reality they're only keeping quiet about how offended they are because he's in a position of power.

Because it's a reference to a famous, Mexican character that mostly has one trait in common with Rodriguez and that's ethnicity. It sends the message to Rodriguez that his bosses classify him as Latino primarily and then as other things second. Now... I mean, it's a stretch to take this and say "HHH has hate in his heart for Mexicans and wears a white hood and we should hate him" because that's not the point (though, if this is a pattern of behavior, it doesn't look good). But the point is that the WWE has a hostile, othering culture towards its non-white employees, which comes from the top on down. Whether or not any given individual actually personally dislikes Mexican people isn't necessary for that... though of course those kinds of attitudes can thrive in that sort of situation, too.

Now we know that line he said to Booker before Mania 19 was all his idea. How? If these are allegations as the thread title says, then how does combining three different news stories that are weeks old make the entire thing true? I get that people still want to crucify HHH for WrestleMania 19, but this is quite the slippery slope.

He's laughing, other people are laughing, so the person he's mocking must be in on the joke too when in reality they're only keeping quiet about how offended they are because he's in a position of power. I think it's like this: Guys like Vince etc. aren't "racist" as in they hate other races or cultures. They're just ignorant, and as you said, their powerful positions make them immune to criticism, so it keeps them in that ignorance bubble, they never learn anything. So, when it comes to booking non-caucasian pro wrestlers, they pull from the outdated stereotypes in their mental rolodexes because they A. don't know anything else about other cultures and B. they don't see it as a stereotype, it's just how they are! And again, it's because no one checks them.

Did Savio Vega wrestle a high flying style too? I'll be honest, I have no idea who that is.

Either way, not surprised by this at all.

When did Triple H find the time to watch The Simpsons between all that berrying he was doing?

Stated watching irregularly whenever I could back around 2000. Stopped watching for a few years and started watching again in 2006.

Stated watching irregularly whenever I could back around 2000. Stopped watching for a few years and started watching again in 2006. I'm 32. I was taken to WM 2 in chicago, 3 in detroit and 8 in indy as a child. I can't remember not being a fan. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but yeah, it makes me feel weird and old when wrestling fans tell me that guys like Savio Vega or Doink or Hakushi were before their time. I start to speak up then realize that it's been almost 20 years... This is me watching "Kids React To NES" on YouTube all over again...

I picture HHH just running around in circles in the locker room yelling "n*****" repeatedly every couple hours for no real reason.

hmm surprising it's all coming out NOW eh alberto? Not really, most businesses in the world won't allow you to speak negatively of them if you're let go in an awkward situation until you are 100% out of the company with no chance of a return. You have to play it cool before going 'well yeah, some negative stuff was happening'.

I don't think HHH is racist per se. I do however see him as the type of guy that would say some overtly sexual or ignorant comment to or about someone just to "look cool" though.

So wait, Triple H just calls any Mexican high-flyer "Bumblebee"? That's not very creative.
