@rowlandrivals Was just told by a high school coach that one of Mike Riley's assistants found out about his move to Nebraska from a recruit.
@rowlandrivals That coach does not know whether Riley will bring him on board at Nebraska or not. If true seems like a really bad protocol.

So I've read that Brian Griese is claiming to be close to the Michigan coaching search and it will be a long and deliberate process, Colin Cowherd is claiming to be close to some major college agents and they are telling him there is a huge, shocking name that will emerge this weekend as the front runner for the Michigan job if not getting the job and that Brady Hoke is going to CSU.
Ugh.

Florida's close to finalizing a deal for Jim McElwain per Pat Forde with Yahoo! Sports. Expect CSU on Florida's schedule sometime in the next ten yrs. He had like a $5 mil buyout and Muschamp had a pretty steep one too. They pay out CSU for a home game and I think its square. We'll see how this hire works, but I guess I am not impressed by this hiring. Better than the Mike Gundy hire, but not by much.

Nebraska has hired Mike Riley, the Oregon State head coach. And for some reason they think this is an upgrade. I'd hate to be a Husker fan these days. Man. So, you wanna go to the Big Ten Championship by firing a guy who never lost more than 4 games and replace him with a guy who never lost less than 4 games, while calling it progress? Yeah, Husker fans should have every reason to bitch.

@lemmingreport: A person close to the situation tells me that super recruiter Ed Orgeron could be coming to Nebraska. A top 10 recruiter and great DL Coach.

Mike Riley. I heard that this afternoon and I said, "who the hell is he?". Then for fifteen minutes sirius talking heads droned on about him and I picked up that he was. Pac12 but I had no idea who until I looked online. Then I said "why the hell would they do that?"
Les miles is not going to UM A name talked about this afternoon for Oregon state was Rick Mr.Pac 12 Nuehiesel.

The Big Ten has informed its schools that one of its bowl-eligible teams could be left out of the postseason.

BlueJay, brother the entire thing is making money. The B1G, the. PAC 12, Big XII, SEC nd ACC don't give a shit about preserving the high standards of performance when it comes to getting into money games. The money is the important thing. Whoever it may be (if they chose not to send someone) will be left out because they wouldn't draw.

Neither Minnesota nor Nebraska sold 4,000 bowl tickets last year but i can't imagine them leaving Nebraska or Minnesota out though. Illinois is probably the weakest of the bowl eligible teams but with a bowl game in Detroit it'd make sense for them to go there. Same with Penn State and the NYC bowl game. If anyone's left out, all signs point to Rutgers.

The more I think about the Nebraska coaching choice, the more I really sympathize with Nebraska fans.
Guys, if it makes you feel better, my team (Auburn) kinda did the same thing. They fired Gene Chizik and then hired Gene Chizik 2.0.
