This is seriously the most stacked cast I've seen in a comic book movie. I'm pretty excited for this one, poor DC lol. Honestly, if it wasn't for me being a lifelong Batman fan, I wouldn't even give DC a look. Marvel has left them in the dust Which is a shame because I still don't feel Marvel deserve it.You are pretty much the only person thinking that at this point. They have had some misfires, but so many of the set pieces have come off, the tone seems to work in their movies and they understand that they are making comic book movies. DC still seem ashamed of the idea that these films dont need to be super srs all/Batman tone the damn time.

Yeah, just by comparing the trailers in front of Deadpool, this film is gonna CRUSH Batman vs. Superman, and thank god.

DC/WB need to embrace the fact that they making comic movies.
I know they're beloved but I wasn't overly impressed with the Dark Knight trilogy because it didn't feel like I was watching batman.
Good action movies but terrible Batman movies.
The Burton Batman & Donner Superman movies were bang on IMO
Not saying Marvel is perfect because IMO a lot of phase 2 suffered from tone issues (Thor 2, IM3 & AOU).
Winter Soldier, Guardians & Ant Man I really enjoyed

After Deadpool did it so well, I'm not surprised by the animated eyes. Also f***...I hate that I'm "This nerd", but that's not even the superhero landing. He sticks the landing on both feet, then takes a knee. Way easier on the knees.

And even they only got there through trial and error. The first season of Arrow seemed f***ing TERRIFIED of making Oliver Queen look anything like an actual superhero. They used every possible move they could to dance around it.

Yeh,i was afraid of bringignt hat up and being wrong, but it is much softer than a super hero landing, plus his hand is open, not a fist

Curious....why is the Civil War comic storyline so hated? I read all the books (granted VERY late) and loved it! I just never get why its so disliked.

I also read then late, and it has some pretty good moments, but i can see why it is bad. I think the main issue i see,is how they made Reed and Stark complete assholes and Stark to be out of characters. And a lot of holes and bad writing.(Like Maria trying to arrest Capt America for something that wasn't law yet,and the infamous "you don't watch nascar, how can you call yourself Captain America".

As much as people get excited for his participation in it, Spider-Man was also insanely out of character in the comic book Civil War and did'nt live up to his "power and responsibility" motto (publicly unmasking, which put everyone he loved in danger), and it led to the infamous One More Day event, a story Marvel have yet to properly revisit because they insist he stay single (although he remains married in the newspaper comics because Stan has creative say in it and he likes the old status quo)
(and yes, I apologize for my comments earlier, I see why some got upset over them)

I take it Spidey is STILL not with MJ in the comics? Thanks so much for nothing, Quesada!

The thing that made the whole "making Tony and his pro-registration crew look like evil fascists" thing was the fact they were supposed to be the protagonists. Also that Sally Floyd rant to Cap was nothing short of embarrassing.

I take it Spidey is STILL not with MJ in the comics? Thanks so much for nothing, Quesada! He did OMD because he believed readers wouldn't relate with a Spider Man who was married. Because hey, all comic book fans live with their Aunts and don't think about getting married and having a family am I right? And the next story arc has him getting a new love interest, named after Joe's Daughter.

I take it Spidey is STILL not with MJ in the comics? Thanks so much for nothing, Quesada! MJ is working for Tony now. Nothing romantic, just Bendis trying to do something with her after the Spider-writers threw her under a bus for a near decade. Marvel did devote a whole mini-series to their marriage during Secret Wars (Renew Your Vows), but it was just so Slott could introduce a villain he's bringing back this year. Surprisingly, Marvel did'nt troll us with that series, and proved that Spider-Man as a husband and father could actually work, and that his family were just as capable of backing themselves up as he was. You can still find the marriage in the newspaper strip, although even Marvel tried getting rid of it there back in 2009, only for Stan to retcon their attempts as a Bobby Ewing-inspired "dream" complete with MJ coming out of the shower. It's widely thought that was the plan for the strip, to parody what Marvel was doing at the time and just carry on with their own vision for the characters. The strip is why I don't think OMD accomplished all that much in the end....come 2017 and Peter will probably be celebrating 30 years of marriage somewhere. Not too shabby.

I don't know if this has been posted yet (I'm not eager to go through 10 or so pages of thread), but in case it hasn't.
