"Am I f***ing going over?" Spider-Man is like AJ Styles debuting at the Royal Rumble. Spent years in a clearly inferior rival promotion, kept getting screwed around with them, and then finally turns up at one of the biggest PPVs in the company's history to a massive ovation. Plus, Stan Lee isn't a fan of the gay community.

Is this linked to why they had Bruce Banner's name changed to David for the Hulk tv show?

Plus, Stan Lee isn't a fan of the gay community. Is he not? How do we know this? When Andrew Garfield talked about the potential of a male love interest for his Spider-Man and that he could imagine the character as bisexual, Lee was incredibly vociferous in making sure that everybody knew he opposed it. He made some biphobic statements along the way, saying "one sex at a time ought to be enough for anybody", saying that the only reason for Garfield to suggest it would be for the sake of controversy. When people criticised him for it, he tried to justify himself by saying "we had a character called Percy Pinkerton, one of the commandos, who was great, but he was a little bit less tough than the other guys, but we didn’t make an issue of it. We didn’t call him gay, he was just there." Yep, less tough, pink in his name, that's representation right there. The end result? Sony's directive that any version of Spider-Man (not just Peter Parker, anyone who uses the name, any alternative version, etc.) can't be gay. It's specifically forbidden as a character trait along with stuff like not being a drug user.

Is this linked to why they had Bruce Banner's name changed to David for the Hulk tv show? That's the rumor. The real reason is the network wasn't very comic book friendly, and they thought the alliterative name was too comic book. It's also why, save for Daredevil and Thor's appearance in later movies, there are almost no characters from the comic books in the series.

You cant expect people of that age to be super socially supportive of everything. Stan has zero influence over Sony or the films, and their emails predate his comments, which were framed alongside Lee saying that he was all for gay heroes, he just didnt see the need to change away from the source material (which makes sense, seen as most of the basis of the source material is his work, so he's hardly going to support them ignoring his work). And anyway, when he was told about Iceman in the comics, he didnt seem to care: “In fact your telling me that is the first time I’d heard. Is Iceman really gay? “Wow! I never knew that. I don’t care what happens as long as they tell good stories.”

So who's going to be his Jericho? Tony Stark. I can't wait for the scene where Stark burns an Iron Spider shirt and throws it in a trash can.

So apparently Infinity War... {Spoiler}...will mostly revolve around secondary characters. This sort of confirms my belief that Cap, Thor and Iron Man will all bite the big one by the end of IW Part 1 leading to them returning for the big battle in Part 2.

{Spoiler}In a perfect world, Infinity War Pt. 2 has the secondary Avengers leading the charge, with some TV characters joining in the fight against Thanos and friends.
