Just watched T2 finding Furlong annoying in parts giving me the idea for the thread. Still thinking over my own answer to this though Maisie Williams blows me away as Arya on GoT.

Kiernan Shipka as Sally on Mad Men has been pretty solid. That she's been on the show the whole time while they're up to the fourth actor to play Bobby Draper should tell you how good she's been in her work.

Mischa Barton in Lawn Dogs is probably my favourite performance.

Some in my opinion
Natalie Portman In Léon/The Professional (also a stand out in Beautiful Girls). Drew Barrymore and Henry Thomas in E.T. Kirsten Dunst in Interview With The Vampire (though I find the overall film overrated IMO). Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver, she also is clearly the best performer in Bugsy Malone. Jackie Coogan in The Kid.

Best Kirsten Dunst in Interview with the Vampire. Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun. Macauley Culkin in Home Alone.
Worst: Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds. The girl in Jurassic Park. Jake Lloyd.

I think it's one of the Oscar's biggest flubs of the decade that Hailee Steinfold was nominated for best SUPPORTING actress in True Grit, when in reality without her, there is no movie. Her work in that film is absolutely stellar.

A.I. had plenty of flaws story wise, but Osment wasn't one of them.

Rochelle Davis was pretty good in The Crow as a weary young teenager who's seen too much bad shit already.
It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I didn't hate the performance of Carrie Henn in Aliens.

Henry Thomas in E.T Freddie Highmore in Finding Neverland. I also have to mention the three main kids from the Harry Potter films. As the films went on, they consistently improved and whilst I wouldn't say any of them are on the same level, they didn't look out of place amongst the likes of Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman and Ralph Fiennes. Oh and the girl who played Luna was fantastic.

Here are some that come to mind, though I think these came to mind because most of them were successful as adults as well:
Natalie Wood in Miracle on 34th Street Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet Tatum O'Neal in Paper Moon Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver Henry Thomas and Drew Barrymore in E.T. River Phoenix in Stand By Me Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone Leonardo DiCaprio in What's Eating Gilbert Grape Elijah Wood in The Good Son and The Adventures of Huck Finn Anna Paquin in The Piano Natalie Portman in Leon Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Waterson in the Harry Potter series Chloe Moretz in Kick-Ass and Let Me In.

I was trying to avoid citing examples of young actors who were around 17 to 19. I didn't realize he was that old in that movie.

In fairness to you he did look about 14 in that movie and even now he still looks way younger then he actually is.
