"You can't just rely on one match these days"
You have to rely on multitudes of the same matches. That will do it.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with what I'm about to say, but I'll say it anyway. If this is a boxing match, I score the first round in favor of Vince McMahon. CM Punk ranted and raved and aired all of his grievances, burned the bridge then pissed on the ashes. Vince McMahon responds by saying he hopes to someday work with Punk in the future. Like I said earlier, given all that's been thrown at the WWE since last week, the grace that McMahon showed there was overwhelmingly impressive. It was more like Vince came out of the corner and got clocked square in the mouth and finished the round showing us the match wasn't over yet.

He spoke about what he felt was wrong, and said himself he didn't want what he said to come off as burning bridges, pissing on ashes, etc. He just wanted to get his story out there and his side of it. Im not saying Vince didn't handle it well, but Im not saying Punk handled his side badly either. The dude was literally about to die, I think he had a measure of reason to be angry.

Vince reaction was not one of a father who's daughter was statutory raped by a guy.

The WWE isn't remotely changing with the times, Vince.

The WWE isn't remotely changing with the times, Vince. Tonight's show was indication of that

Vince seems like he can't figure how to answer anything about Brock without spoiling six months of storylines. I'm surprised how he would throw out that the belt doesn't really matter. He called Undertaker by his government name moments after gracefully handling the big, gigantic, tattooed elephant draped in a giant ass CHICAGO flag in the room. Nothing about this surprises me anymore. This is so surreal...and amazing.

Eh, I don't think it works like that if only because they have different goals. Punk feels wronged and feels no interest in working with them again--he has nothing to gain by being polite. Vince's situation is kind of the opposite. I think he handled himself well, but I don't think calmness earns you a point if you are truly guilty of what Punk accused him of.

Vince is full of shit on this. Like he's never tried to hurt his competition. He raided the territories and basically killed them.

It's Vince McMahon recreating Muhammad Ali's rope-a-dope strategy against Joe Frazier. Lean back, let him throw all the verbal punches, absorb as many blows as you can, and let him tire himself out and maybe one day he'll come back after he's done throwing punches.
