With Sting showing up last night and him being my favorite wrestler ever I thought it would be a perfect time to ask this question. What was your favorite Sting feud?
For me it would be the feud with Rick Rude and the Dangerous Alliance with the Vader and Cactus Jack feuds a close 2nd and 3rd.
Keep in mind WCW in 1992 is not only one of my favorite eras in company but, in wrestling in overall.
From the Clash match when Rude beat an injured Sting for to US belt, to the Dangerous Alliance being created and running roughshot over WCW and having kickass matches every week to the War Games match, which is my favorite, the feud was great. And because of this feud it made Rick Rude something he never was in WWF, a main event wrestler. And it's also why the DA is my favorite all time stable.
Of course, Sting was also having kickass matches with Vader and Cactus Jack which is why their 2nd and 3rd.
Some would say the NWO feud but, I can't because of Starcade'97 and the fact it was the beginning of the end for WCW and Stings popularity.

For me, it's Flair, namely '88 - '90.

For me, it's his feud with the NWO and Hollywood Hogan. It culminated in the most successful PPV in their history. Sadly the payoff was botched and Sting didn't really go anywhere after Starrcade and he soon would be playing second fiddle to Nash in the Wolf Pac.
But still, this feud with the NWO that went from late 1996 to Starrcade 1997 was my favorite feud.
As for actual matches, my favorites are his Flair and Vader matches.

Ah man...tough one. I was around for Flair v Sting at the clash and naturally the 89-90 feud and loved the chase. Great payoff.
Hogan/Sting is one of the five best angles in wrestling history. But a lot of people didn't dig the payoff. I enjoyed it but would have preffered a clean finish. However it did not ruin it for me. I had not seen my childhood hero wrestle for two years and was teased by it weekly. So I wasn't anything but thrilled that night. The internet and later RD Reynolds book took the piss right out of my passion for that match. Be fair, WWE had plenty more crappy wasted angle no payoff finishes. WCW lost the war so this gets buried.
You know what screw it. My favorite is Sting/Hogan.

Hogan/nWo. As a kid in the late '90's, it was a blast.

Vader, and it isn't close. They had some brutal matches and each guy won their share. Vader was at his best as a monster, and Sting played the never say die face to perfection

I'm torn between Sting/Vader and Sting/NWO.
I think Sting/Vader was great because Vader was the first guy to come along who was really Sting's equal, and this was probably the feud that made me appreciate Sting as a wrestler, after watching all of the monotonous paint-by-numbers borefests with Flair.
At the same time, the feud vs. NWO was epic, where Sting became the mysterious "dark knight" character who could add so much suspense to every Nitro. There would have been no better payoff than seeing Sting obliterate Hogan at StarrCade '97, but unfortunately they screwed that up beyond comprehension.

Sting-Flair is THE classic NWA/WCW feud. In terms of matches, though, I'd give Sting-Vader the edge. It's very tough for me to choose between those two.
Sting-Hogan/nWo would be in third place.

Sting/Vader. It would've been Sting/nWo, but WCW screwed that up.

Sting vs. Vader
I love the matchup; it has the trappings of a typical "WWF Hogan vs. Monster Heel" formula, but the talent of both men carried it to such bigger heights in terms of creative and athletic achievement. You knew it would be brutal, you knew both men would play their roles to the hilt, AND it gave us the White Castle of Fear. It proved that a big guy/monster type like Vader could come into a company, eventually lose a few matches, yet not lose his mystique and aura in the process, and continue to be a main event player by playing off guys who would bump and sell for him, like Sting.

It's also great in that Vader is agile enough to be able to hit quick and high-flying stuff, while Sting is strong enough to hit power moves on Vader. So they can even mix it up further beyond smaller quick guy vs bigger strong guy. Still one of my gold standard feuds. Sting mentioned on a recent IGN piece that he bumped into Vader a week or two ago and had a nice talk with him. I'm glad about that.

I'll give my top five picks. Sting vs Great Muta takes the top spot easily for me. Every match was exciting. They always left me wanting more. I'd put Sting vs Vader in second place. Those matches were brutal and they worked so well together. Sting vs Ric Flair gets third place because it's just a classic feud. The Clash was awesome. Starrcade 89 was fun but I wasn't thrilled about how Bash 90 copied their exact same finish. The very last Nitro was hard to watch. It really fizzled out over time but I will always respect that feud. Sting vs Rick Rude comes in fourth for me. They had some really good matches. Sting vs Hogan comes in fifth place to me. There was just far too much hype with a lousy payoff, much like Taz and Sabu in ECW earlier that year. Sting just didn't care at that point. He was having too many personal problems and he wasn't even working out anymore. It really showed and it was hard for me to get excited about him. Sting vs Lex Luger doesn't even rate to me. I remember it being a big deal at the time but it's so forgettable now.

I enjoy randomly putting on a Vader voice and just bellowing "Sting-uuuuuh...STING-UUUUUUUH!"
