I like Adam Page a lot, but he's in a thankless role. Going from the plunky kid dedicated to make it, jumping at the opportunity to be a young boy for The Decade and being mistreated, earning the audience's sympathy and just waiting for him to finally snap and strike back. Only, instead of rising above, he's snapped those heartstrings and become just as ruthless and callous as his tormentors.

Few could seamlessly pull off that transition like Page did, and it makes what he puts Colby Corino through all that much harder because on some level you have to know his character knows how unnecessary it is after what Whitmer put him through, but he's inflicting it because he had to do it.

I honestly think Page is well set in his current role. He and Whitmer are perpetual heat machines and Page's promo skills have come on leaps and bounds. Some of the promos he cut in his feud with ACH were excellent. I expect him to be a top guy in 2-3 years. Definite future World Champion.

But yeah Ferrara sucks.

THE REMATCH: ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROH WORLD & WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION JAY LETHAL vs “MR ROH” RODERICK STRONG

“Mr ROH” Roderick Strong's showing at Death Before Dishonor XIII proved that he is one of the very best wrestlers on the planet. ROH World & World Television Champion Jay Lethal proved that he IS the best wrestler on the planet, which is why he is still champion. These two battled to an epic 60 minute draw. Roderick Strong demonstrated that he deserved a rematch based on his impressive record in 2015 and the fact that he took Lethal to the limit. ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness went against the judgment of Lethal and Truth Martini and agreed with Strong!

Lethal and his manager Truth Martini have shown the world that Lethal is t the very best today! Lethal himself proved to Strong that it is going to take everything Roddy has and much more to remove the championship from his waste.

Roderick Strong is already telling anyone who will listen that he is amping up his training and will come in even more prepared. Truth Martini had this to say: “Jay Lethal is the undisputed ROH World & World Television Champion for a reason. Roderick Strong, you won’t be ready for what Jay is bringing in Philly!”

Nigel McGuinness has dictated that if Lethal does retain his ROH World Championship in this defense he will still be obligated to face reDRagon’s Kyle O’Reilly in San Antonio, TX at All Star Extravaganza live on PPV, Friday September 18. On top of that, Lethal is currently scheduled to also defend his ROH World Television Championship against the #1 contender to the title, reDRagon’s Bobby Fish. The pressure is on Lethal right now and Strong could capitalize on this situation to become a 2x ROH World Champion.

McGuinness has also stated that should Roderick Strong defeat Jay Lethal to become the New ROH World Champion, he would then assume the already signed title defense against Kyle O’Reilly on at All Star Extravaganza VII.

This is a rematch of one of the greatest matches in ROH history and you do not want to miss it!

ADAM COLE vs SHINSUKE NAKAMURA

A match that Ring of Honor fans have long desired has been officially signed for ROH's return to the 2300 Arena. Former ROH World Champion Adam Cole will take on “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura of New Japan Pro Wrestling in a true dream match.

Adam Cole returned from injury this past May at the ROH/NJPW's War of The Worlds. He surprised everyone by announcing he was going to challenge then-IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles. The stunned audience couldn’t believe the fortitude of Cole.

“The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura is a phenomenon that Ring of Honor Fans can’t get enough of. The charismatic in-ring artist brings an unbridled energy to everything he does. His most recent tour of Ring of Honor saw him score major wins over The Briscoe’s, Jushin Liger, ACH & “Mr ROH” Roderick Strong. These wins speak volumes for Nakamura’s immense talents.

These two huge stars have never met inside the ring. The Addiction have proven to be not only a team with great physical tools, but also great at getting inside the heads of their opponents. The veteran duo has reigned over the best tag team division in professional wrestling for 4 months and the competition is only getting tougher.

The Young Bucks come into this title opportunity as near favorites. As former ROH World Tag Team Champions and current IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks are coming to Philly with their trademark confidence. The brash youngsters are looking to become dual champions once again.

Daniels and Kazarian will have their work cut out for them. The Young Bucks rarely travel without Bullet Club backup and this may be the one time the champions do not have that mental edge heading into a defense. IWGP JR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION KUSHIDA V MATT SYDAL

KUSHIDA is in the middle of an absolutely incredible 2015. Earlier this year, he won NJPW's prestigious Best of the Super Juniors Tournament, defeating Kyle O'Reilly in the final round. He also recently claimed the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, marking the second time he has held that title. Following a series of stellar matches during WAR OF THR WORLDS and GLOBAL WARS, Ring of Honor fans could not wait to welcome KUSHIDA back into an ROH ring!

His opponent in Philadelphia is none other than MATT SYDAL! Sydal was recently attacked by The Decade and laid out by a vicious Rite of Passage by Adam Page onto a steel chair. But Sydal will be more than ready to go on August 21st when he takes on KUSHIDA! While no championships are on the line, this promises to be a fast paced, athletic spectacle between two of the most exciting professional wrestlers on the planet.


IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION KAZUCHIKA OKADA & ROPPONGI VICE vs. IWGP INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION HIROOKI GOTO & THE BRISCOES

Current IWGP Heavyweight Champion KAZUCHIKA OKADA and fellow Chaos members ROCKY ROMERO & BERETTA, known as Roppongi Vice, will take on the IWGP Intercontinental Champion HIROOKI GOTO and former 8x ROH World Tag Team Champions THE BRISCOES in South Philly on Friday, August 21.

Rocky Romero has spent the better part of a week calling out tag teams in Ring of Honor on social media. Not happy with the loss suffered to the Briscoe’s at Death Before Dishonor XIII, Romero and Baretta want revenge. Joining them will be someone who most consider the best wrestler on the planet, current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. The trio are members of the Chaos faction in Japan and are no strangers to teaming against common enemies.

The Briscoes are trying to keep their legacy moving and are striving for an amazing 9th ROH World Tag Team Championship. They received the challenge from Chaos and made a phone call to get one of the toughest men in New Japan Pro Wrestling to stand by their side, someone who fits the Briscoe brand of butt kicking: current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Hirooki Goto. Goto is known as a tough as nails hard hitting superstar who will without a doubt put a lot of people on notice in his Ring of Honor debut.

Roppongi Vice & Okada will be looking to send a message to their respective rivals and The Briscoes and Goto will be looking to do the same in South Philly!


MICHAEL ELGIN vs. SILAS YOUNG

Michael Elgin returns to Ring of Honor on August 21st in Philadelphia! Elgin is coming off a major tour of Japan for NJPW's G1 Climax where he truly impressed the Japanese fans. It's long been known that Michael Elgin's two major goals in professional wrestling were to win the ROH World Championship and to compete in Japan. Now that he has achieved both, there's no doubt Elgin is readying himself for the next challenge...a second championship reign and more international competition!

On August 21st, he takes on a fellow ROH star with whom he is very familiar: SILAS YOUNG. Elgin and Young have battled throughout their careers. Recently, Silas's mind has been occupied by Dalton Castle and his Boys, who have gotten under Young's skin like no one ever before. But he will need to push all distractions aside if he hopes to defeat a former ROH World Champion and an athlete the caliber of Michael Elgin! A hungry, motived Elgin is returning after his first tour of Japan. He is not coming to lose and this could spell serious trouble for Silas Young.


CEDRIC ALEXANDER w/VEDA SCOTT vs DALTON CASTLE

Cedric Alexander has made some very obvious changes in his career. Gone is the humble, honorable young athlete. In his place stands an arrogant star...but a star quickly on the rise now that he's shaken off his losing ways and acquired new guidance in Veda Scott. Cedric and Veda refuse to participate in the Code of Honor and openly disrespect their opponents, gleefully celebrating nefarious wins over the previously undefeated Moose. Veda Scott has always been willing to interfere and intervene on behalf of her clients, and Cedric has been more than happy to use her tactics to his advantage.

But on August 21st in Philadelphia, Cedric Alexander takes on a man who comes with his own...unique...ringside enforcers: DALTON CASTLE! Castle has taken Ring of Honor by storm in 2015, a competitor completely unlike any other in professional wrestling today! Combining his considerable athletic skills with over-the-top theatrics (and The Boys monitoring ringside), Dalton Castle is hard to scout and even harder beat.

This will be a true challenge for both competitors with so much at stake. Dalton Castle is still establishing himself in ROH, and for all his success he cannot afford to take a step back! But Cedric Alexander is climbing back up the ranks himself with a new attitude and new alliance with Veda Scott. Dalton and his “boys” could be in for a very long night.

Undisputed ROH World & World Television Champion Jay Lethal and his manager Truth Martini are releasing the hounds of the House of Truth on Lethal’s scheduled challengers at All Star Extravaganza VII. Donovan Dijak and J Diesel have their sights set on destroying Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly before their scheduled title opportunities live on Pay Per View. Fish is guaranteed a World Television Title opportunity against Lethal, while the champion still has to make it past his rematch with Roderick Strong in order to defend against O’Reilly. Truth Martini is not taking any chances and said he wants reDRagon destroyed in Philly. Fish & O’Reilly will be coming loaded for bear and primed to take out anyone in front of them. The 3x former ROH World Tag Team Champions will be looking to send a clear message to Jay Lethal, Truth Martini and the entire House of Truth!


ACH vs CAPRICE COLEMAN

The Aerial Wizard will be taking on the charismatic preacher in South Philadelphia! ACH has found a rhythm since his epic NO DQ war with The Decade’s Adam Page at Death before Dishonor. His desire to gain a shot at an ROH Championship grows with each day. Caprice Coleman is currently in turmoil as he takes issue with the choices his former tag team partner Cedric Alexander is making. He will need to focus his efforts here as ACH will be bringing everything he has.


FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL
ADAM PAGE w/BJ WHITMER vs WILL FERRARA vs TAAKAKI WATANABE vs MOOSE w/STOKELY HATHAWAY

Four different worlds collide in this one. Adam Page is rising at a meteoric rate under the guidance of BJ Whitmer and a win here really establishes him as a contender. Will Ferrara is looking for a big win to get into title contention. Watanabe is still looking to make his mark in Ring of Honor and a victory here can establish him as a true force. Moose has suffered 3 major losses recently and needs to find his way back to what made him unbeatable. Before the show officially began, Ring of Honor and New Japan officials announced:

*The two groups' agreement is stronger than ever.

*ROH will be running two shows in February 2016 with the ROH title defended.

*New Japan talents will appear at the ROH 14th anniversary show in Las Vegas this February.

*The annual May New Japan tour will be expanded to additional cities.

Don't get me wrong, you guys are right. He's got a pretty good character and, like I said earlier, knows how to present himself as a force in the ring. It's totally believable that he started out as a babyfaced young boy and turned into a hardened man. That's really good storytelling, I can't deny that. He's a talented guy for sure. I'm just not a fan of his matches, I think is what this boils down. He's aight but for him to be pushed at the level that he's at and be having these kind of matches...eh. Just not for me. Call me spoiled but if you are gonna be put in this "crown jewel" type spot, you gotta bring it in every area and Page just doesn't do it for me in the ring.  He's young so there's still plenty of room for improvement but right now? I'll pass.

Episode 1:

1. reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) beat The House of Truth (J. Diesel & Donovan Dijak w/Truth Martini) after simultaneous submissions. Post match Jay Lethal confronted reDRagon.

- Silas Young joins in on commentary.

2. Cedric Alexander (w/Veda Scott) beat Dalton Castle (w/his Boys). Finish saw Silas Young grab the Boys when they jumped up on the apron, distracting Castle and allowing Alexander to roll him up for the win. Post match Stokely Hathaway came out and distracted Alexander, allowing Moose to run in from the crowd and spear him.

3. War Machine (Hanson & Rowe) beat The Kingdom (Michael Bennett & Matt Taven w/Maria Kanellis). Finish saw The Young Bucks come out to neutralize Maria after she prevented War Machine from winning, which distracted The Kingdom, allowing War Machine to hit their finish for the win. Post match the Bucks superkicked Bennett, followed shortly thereafter by The KRD running out and laying out the Bucks.

Episode 2:

- An inconsiderate asshole parked their blue Honda blocking someone's driveway, and an announcement is made for them to go move it!

- Cheeseburger comes out to give away free t-shirts, but is attacked by Brutal Bob Evans & ??, Bushwhacker Luke runs out to make the save

4. The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian w/Chris Sabin) (c) beat The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Sabin was ejected from the match after he tried superkick Nick but missed and hit Kazarian. The Kingdom ran out and attacked Daniels, while Maria distracted Matt allowing Kazarian to roll him up for the pin. Post match Nigel McGuinness came out and said he believes in clean finishes, and since The Kingdom screwed the Bucks out of their shot at the titles, he's adding them to the match at "All-Star Extravaganza VII" in San Antonio, and it will be The Addiction defending the ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Kingdom and The Young Bucks in a three-way match.

5. Jay Lethal (w/Truth Martini & The House of Truth) (c) beat Roderick Strong to retain the ROH World Championship. During the match Lethal tried to choked out Strong with his wrist tape, then when the ref went to through the tape out of the ring attacked him with the title belt. Finish saw Strong kicked out of the Lethal Injection, only to get pinned following a second one. Post match reDRagon came out to watch as Lethal and The House of Truth celebrated in the ring.

- INTERMISSION

Episode 3:

6. Michael Elgin beat Silas Young after a powerbomb

7. ACH beat Caprice Coleman after a superkick followed by a 450. Post match Steve Corino interviewed Coleman at ringside. Kevin Kelly then interviewed Prince Nana.

8. Hirooki Goto & Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) beat Kazuchika Okada & RPG Vice (Rocky Romero & Beretta) when Jay pinned Beretta after a Jay Driller.

Episode 4:

9. Matt Sydal beat KUSHIDA. Post match Sydal challenged KUSHIDA for a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, and KUSHIDA accepts.

- The Decade comes out with BJ Whitmer on crutches, which earns him no sympathy from the fans. He start to cut a promo about how Adam Page should be in the main event, but is interrupted by Will Ferrara, causing further debate by FAN members on the two young ROH wrestlers.

10. Takaaki Watanabe beat Adam Page (w/BJ Whitmer & Colby Corino), Moose (w/Stokely Hathaway) and Will Ferrara in a Four Corner Survival match after pinning Ferrara. Post match Whitmer and Steve Corino get into a confrontation which had to be broken up by Nigel McGuinness.

11. Shinsuke Nakamura beat Adam Cole after a Boma Ye

Cedric Alexander is getting in shape! He obviously wasn't in bad shape to begin with, but he's slimmed down a bit.

The title matches were really good. Strong and Lethal have great chemistry.

What do you think of the card?

I'm third row, not sure where exactly. But yeah, the card looks strong. Disappointed in no Dalton Castle, but still. That main event especially looks SICK. I'm also curious to see how Jay Briscoe vs. Moose shakes out. Plus, I'm sure we'll get some interesting "dark match" stuff. Last Atlanta card had the Washington Bullets, who I liked. Makes me wonder what we'll get here.

- THE BRISCOES VS. TIME SPLITTERS

The greatest tag team in Ring of Honor history faces the team that has set the tone for high-flying action in NJPW when Mark and Jay Briscoe take on Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA.

ROH fans last saw Time Splitters at Final Battle last December, when they came within an eyelash of capturing the ROH World Tag Team Championship from reDRagon. Since then, after great success during the War of the Worlds/Global Wars tour, KUSHIDA has gone on to win the prestigious Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. The sky’s the limit for the KUSHIDA!

Alex Shelley has a long history in ROH, from his days as the leader of “Generation Next” to his time in the “Embassy,” but the team of Time Splitters has showcased Shelley’s efforts. The former NJPW Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions look to gain championship traction in both New Japan and Ring of Honor and win at Field of Honor ’15 would make that a reality.

The championship legacy of the Briscoes is unparalleled in Professional Wresting today as Mark and Jay are the 8-time former ROH World Tag Team Champions. - KAZUCHIKA OKADA VS. RODERICK STRONG

He is the first competitor in ROH history to hold two individual championships at the same time. His tag team partner is no stranger to championship glory. Shinsuke Nakamura is a 3x time former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, 4x IWGP Intercontinental Champion and a former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.

“Unbreakable” Michael Elgin rededicated himself after an up and down 2014, which saw him achieve his dream of winning the ROH World Championship and then lose it a few months later. He struggled with personal issues that affected his career. Those issues shrouded him in controversy for the remainder of 2014. A rejuvenated and focused Elgin stormed into 2015 with a "take no prisoners attitude." He dedicated himself to getting an invitation to the G1 Climax and did exactly that! Now he is taking New Japan Pro Wrestling by storm and turning heads with his impressive arsenal.

Hirooki Goto will be making his Ring of Honor debut the night before Field of Honor in Philadelphia. The 2x IWGP Intercontinental Champion has an impressive resume that includes multiple major championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He currently holds the prestigious IWGP Intercontinental Championship and is second in the history books for having the longest reign as champion. Goto will be looking to impress the fans of Ring of Honor in Brooklyn and a win over a former ROH World Champion is a great place to start.


- KILLER ELITE SQUAD VS. WAR MACHINE

War Machine, Raymond Rowe & Hanson, will finally get their much talked about rematch with Pro Wrestling Noah GHC Tag Team Champions & NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Killer Elite Squad: Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Lance Archer.

The issues with War Machine and K.E.S. date back to Michael Elgin bringing in the K.E.S. in to destroy War Machine this past April. The highly anticipated match between saw destruction, chaos and was as hard hitting as speculated. The two teams brought enough carnage that night that the referee had to declare the match a 'no contest.'

The K.E.S. and War Machine have unfinished business. This match will not feature glitz or glamour. This will not be about trading holds and trying to outdo each other. - ADAM COLE VS. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS

Both of these athletes are unapologetically arrogant and unabashedly confident, which is exactly how this match got made in the first place! This match was signed based on Daniels attacking Adam Cole on Twitter. The issue stems from Cole teaming with former Future Shock tag team partner Kyle O’Reilly on Ring of Honor Television and the duo upsetting The Addiction in a non-title match.

Daniels believes that Cole should not be bragging about a “tainted” victory and wants revenge. Cole says that Daniels initiated the issue when he stuck his nose into business that was not his. The war of words was intense and now both men agreed via social media that they should settle this August 22 in Brooklyn at Field of Honor.


- ACH, MATT SYDAL & THE YOUNG BUCKS VS. THE KINGDOM AND RPG VICE

In NJPW, fans have watched The Kingdom align with CHAOS (featuring RPG Vice) to battle the Bullet Club. Now that rivalry adds a new chapter at FIELD OF HONOR! American fans who jeer The Kingdom in ROH might be shocked to learn that in Japan, quite the opposite is true. Meanwhile, fans in the United States can't get enough of the Bullet Club! I'm third row, not sure where exactly. But yeah, the card looks strong. Disappointed in no Dalton Castle, but still. That main event especially looks SICK. I'm also curious to see how Jay Briscoe vs. Moose shakes out. Plus, I'm sure we'll get some interesting "dark match" stuff. Last Atlanta card had the Washington Bullets, who I liked. Makes me wonder what we'll get here.

I really think this is Moose's "audition" for a main event spot. I'd be shocked if this had a clean finish going either way

I don't feel strongly about Will Ferrara or Adam Page one way or another. But "sucks" in RoH is probably better most pro wrestlers on the planet. Hell, I wish some of the WWE wrestlers that I like could be as "shitty" as Will Ferrara.
