Doug and Rob confirmed at Barnes and Noble that it would be A Christmas Story 2. Someone there said they like it. They then went "Find out in a couple of weeks to find out what we think of it".

I wonder if NC acknowledges It Runs in the Family aka My Summer Story, since it is in some ways also a sequel to A Christmas Story, though it is clearly based on source material from Jean Shepherd, unlike the more recent abomination A Christmas Story 2.
Edit: He does not mention It Runs in the Family.

channelawesome.com/nostalgia-critic-christmas-story-2/Just turned it on, but not a good sign that it starts with a skit, then the credits, then another skit that it makes clear will be getting follow-up. Edit: And right after I say that there's a third one before the review proper even starts. Yeah, one of those.

No but...it's just kinda there. Not really required viewing unless you're a big TLK fan.

I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those reviews where Rob and Doug are all like "YEAH, This is one of the best reviews we've ever done we've topped ourselves yet again!" Whereas the some of the fan base is like (to put it very mildly) "Uh No...."
Sadly I'm in the latter category on this one. I mean did a comic relief character really need a meaningful Christmas story line? Not really, and a lot of the jokes were either run into the ground too much or seemed liked tired old retreads from other reviews. Also the crossover sketch at the start was just there with no real purpose other then "Hey look it's that other popular site that dissects movies in a humorous fashion and we're doing stuff with them." It's just like last year with one really good Christmas review and one that's not so good.
The only positive thing I can say about the film itself is that the guy playing teenaged Ralphie could certainly get work as the star of an Ed Beagly Jr biopic.

not the best of his reviews but it was alright.
But yeah I have a feeling this is one of those WE MADE THE BEST VIDEO EVER! things from Rob and Doug...
it's weird how much of a disconnect they seem to actually have with what the fans like and what they like.
