I bought these on Blu-ray on Black Friday ($7 2-packs x 4), and I'm about halfway done with the last one (did a right marathon of 5-8 today). Having no interest in Harry Potter this is my first time seeing them. I am not a fan of Half Blood Prince and how they went for a look so dim and muted that you can barely see anything.

In my 33 years I've only fallen asleep during four movies. Three of them are Potter movies, and two of those were in theatres.

Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet Of Fire are great, I can take or leave the others.

The guy who played Ron was awful throughout all eight films.

Half-Blooded Prince is the weakest of the series.
Ranking them off the top of my head:
1. Prisoner Of Azkaban 2. Sorcerer's Stone 3. Deathly Hollows(I consider the parts as one) 4. Goblet of Fire 5. Chamber of Secrets 6. Order Of The Phoenix 7. Half-Blooded Prince

As someone who saw the movies and read the books after....I still think Deathly Hallows 2 is the best. And Alan Rickman is the best at everything. If we're gonna rank...
1. Deathly Hallows 2 2. Half Blood Prince (the book is my favorite of the series, and I'm mostly a sucker for the ending) 3. Prisoner of Azkaban 4. Deathly Hallows 1 5. Goblet of Fire 6. Order of the Phoenix 7. Chamber of Secrets 8. Sorcerer's Stone
Really don't care much for the first two at all. Chris Columbus sucks ass.

I've never seen any of these movies before in my life. Bonnie Wright is hot. That is my contribution to this thread.

I still hate the "Sorcerer's Stone" title. Although apparently not as much as J K Rowling. Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite of the series, followed by Deathly Hallows Part 2. The first is the weakest for me.

Goblet of Fire makes me sad because they cut out some of my favorite parts, including the Sphinx in the maze. Considering it was the first book of the series I read because I was bored at the book store one day and bought it on a lark, I'm pretty fond of it and wish more moments like that could've been left in tact in the movie.

If I were to get pervy about it, I would say that there are a number of actresses from those films that are more attractive, including, to a degree, Maggie Smith (you can still tell that she was very, very attractive in her youth, albeit that was during Beatlemania).

I just read somewhere that Dobby and Dudley were in more books than movies, seeing as they're the best characters along with Dolores Umbridge I have to say I wish they weren't cut out of any of the movies.

The books are far superior in pretty much every way you want in a story. Half-Blood Prince movie did no justice to the book at all. The book was probably the most subtle and nuanced of the series, and the movie hacked it to bits. It's only as I re-watch the movies now that I'm beginning to realise they were pretty bad adaptations. Things like constantly changing directors probably had something to do with it, but some of the story changes were pretty unforgivable (Ron being a jerkass idiot, trying to push Harry/Hermione (as much as I ship it) beyond what in the books were sibling-esque feelings for each other, basically cutting Voldemort's story, that f***ing hug, and paper maché villains).
