I'm putting it here because this is mainly focusing on his 80's run. This was inspired by an incredible Hogan/Andre video on youtube which I think was made by WWE, but hasn't been uploaded by them on youtube so I don't think I can link it or even tell you what is is. What is your favorite Hulkster moment? It can be from any time. It could be him slamming Andre, his match with Vince, his NWO run in WCW, "It's not hot!" or maybe one of his tall tales. My favourite moment, and my favourite promo ever is his Wrestlemania 4 promo which I basically know word for word. "THANK GOD DONALD TRUMP'S A HULKAMANIAC"

Almost the Hogan/Macho stuff makes me happy. I get goosebumps.
Hogan in the Dungeon of Doom is seriously the best shitty wrestling stuff ever made.

I did have a thought, though Hogan's ego would never allow him do it.
Say Hogan was to do a match at Wrestlemania next year, he passed the medical et al.
How about if they had Hogan saying he can't do it anymore, he's too broken down, brother. He's just here to help the young dudes.
But a heel beats down Hogan or maybe Hogan is forced to wrestle by an authority figure. It could be a pretty neat "Rocky Balboa" kind of storyline where Hogan has to dig down deep one last time.
He could even reference his back surgeries and say he can't even do his finish anymore. Then have the match be a brawl and have the, in real life and in kayfabe, severely limited Hogan have the fight of his life but just come up short. It would be neat to have him training ala Rocky.

Hulk Hogan was my dude growing up until Sting came into the picture. But I was there for every major Hogan milestone in the 80's.

Hogan walking down to the ring to "Eye of the Tiger" as the fans just went nuts, dressed in red and yellow or white, looking like a beast and having the intensity of a comic book character about to jump out of the screen. There was no one like him. A few years later, Hogan wasn't even quite the same.

Which time period do you mean specifically? I'd say he was great for most of the 80's.

That sounds amazing, I'd be up for it. I'd love for him to reference the back surgery and bring the real life troubles into it. I think that's definitely the shades of grey that WWE could do with utilizing rather than the whole "no faces and heels" bullshit. Especially if you also had Hogan visit people of his past for advice with some telling him not to do it, like him asking Jimmy Hart if he'll be there at ringside with him and Jimmy saying he can't support Hogan killing himself. Maybe him training with Show, trying to recapture the fire of the man who slammed Andre, the old Hogan. Maybe even show him stretching with Bruno and working out with DDP, trying to come into his own physically. It would be a great performance piece, biopic like, culminating in a perfect retirement match. Though only if Hogan actually goes away afterwards and stays retired.

Except in reality if Hogan did do one last match he'd be "hanging and bangin' dude" and acting like he could still do what he could do in 1984. It'd be a trainwreck. But if he did my idea, tweaked his character like this, sure it "weakens" the Hogan character, but he is like 61 and he has had eight back surgeries. He should be weaker. He could still do the Hulk up. Maybe he could be practicing a new finisher in his training vignettes. He would get more sympathy if he plays it like he cannot win, he isn't sure he should be doing this, but damn, his pride has been tested and he is going to go out there and do his best. A little bit like Rocky. He loses to some heel and then never wrestles again. This gives him an excuse to basically stink up the joint (in terms of an actual wrestling match) as it would all be based on spectacle as long as Hogan can take a few bumps.

My childhood hero. Will always love him with a genuine affection. The biggest attraction wrestling has ever known.

Loved Hogan as a young kid in the 90s. He was easily one of my favorites, including when he went NWO (I was 7 at the time). My favorite moment though was at WM30 when he came down to the ring. I saw him live in 1999 at a Monday Nitro, but it didn't sit with me being 10 at the time. At WM30 I went crazy and thinking about it just gives me goosebumps.

Paste this into youtube for a funny Hogan training video from 87. He could do something like that for his comeback training video should he do a match

I adore Hogan, he was my childhood hero. He's one of few people I would get starstruck meeting.
Truly one of the most magic talkers of all time, a perfect crowd-worker and near the top of the list of guys who "get" wrestling

For some reason Hogan always looked significantly more imposing and impressive when he was in white or that sky blue attire. Maybe he didn't have as much time to train when he became more mainstream. He looked like a legit giant back then.

If they did this and put him against a monster heel who spent the match beating him from pillar to post, the hulking up spot would almost assuredly be one of the biggest pops in history.

He was also considerably more versatile and entertaining in the ring before he beat Andre, IMO.

Hogan's path from Wrestlemania III to Summerslam 1989 was the greatest storyline in wrestling history, and yes, it was a single narrative.
- Bobby Heenan and Jesse Ventura get into Andre's ear and make him jealous of Hogan - Andre turns on Hogan and challenges him to a title match at Wrestlemania III - Hogans wins the match but Andre is still pissed, and their respective teams face each other at the first ever Survivor Series - Ted Dibiase wants to buy the WWF title, and recruits a still bitter Andre to get it from him - Andre and Dibiase screw Hogan out of the title with the Hebner twin - Jack Tunney declares this to be bullshit, and holds the tournament at Wrestlemania IV - Dibiase and Andre try some shit again, but Hogan stops it. Macho wins the title. Hogan gropes Elizabeth - The groping continues for months until Macho finally has enough and turns on Hogan - Hogan beats Macho at Wrestlemania V for the title - An embittered Macho hooks up with Sherri and recruits Zeus to destroy Hogan - Hogan finally kills Zeus at Summerslam 1989 using Sherri's purse. Elizabeth adds insult to injury by cutting off Sherri's weave.
