I remember hearing about it when I bought the greatest hits album. I looked for it as I was a big Death Row fan, but I never found until years later and by then, I wasn't going to buy it.

I own the CD. I have to say that it's an underrated album. One thing you should know is that there are only three or four rap songs in the whole album. One is from Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Bad Azz and Tray Dee. The other two are from Tha Dogg Pound and OFTB. I mostly listen to the Snoop track and the track from Tha Dogg Pound. The rest are songs from R&B acts who were on the label like Michel'le, BGOTI, Danny Boy, etc. Nate Dogg even had a solo song on there. I have to say that I liked the renditions of Christmas classics like "Silent Night," "The Christmas Song," "Silver Bells" and others. There were only a couple of songs that I didn't like. I sometimes bust it out around this time. If you want to talk weird, you should listen to this: Yes, I have this album and I just listen to it for the hell of it. The difference between "High Fo Xmas" and "Christmas on Death Row" is that the latter is more of a traditional Christmas album than the other.

"Christmas in the Ghetto" off this album has the weirdest non-existent transition between the verse sample and the hook sample in recorded rap history. Such a weird juxtaposition.

Like I said, I mostly bought "High Fo Xmas" as a joke on my part because I thought it would be funny in a way. I could just imagine if I played it around family. Then again, it's almost a Christmas tradition to listen to "It's The Holidaze" from Westside Connection (as in the song from "Friday After Next") and "Merry Muthaph***in Xmas" from Eazy E and other Ruthless rappers. To be perfectly honest, with the exception of one song, "Christmas on Death Row" is actually appropriate to listen to around people. "Santa Claus Goes To The Ghetto" from Snoop and DPG affiliates, as well as "I Wish" from Tha Dogg Pound don't have any profanity in them at all. The song from OFTB did, however, but that can always be skipped.
