So my fiancée and I fell hook, line, and sinker into a Wal-Mart Black Friday deal this year. We were given the '1-hour guarantee' for the 50" television they had on sale that day. Did anyone else buy this and have you actually received it yet? About a week ago I got a 'Your item has shipped' e-mail and it has been listed as being 'In transit' for about 10 days. So yeah, I'm not sure what the hell is going on/where it's shipping from. For those of you who got a 1-hour guarantee for whatever else, have you received your item? This is my first (and last) time dealing with all of this.
Also, for those of you who have possibly received it, what is the actual brand of the television? That was never listed, for whatever reason.
Thanks for your help, you fine folk. Feel free to ridicule me for being a weak willed asshole and falling headfirst into Wal-Mart's grasp.

I stopped trusting Wal-mart, especially in regards to Black Friday, when two years ago they ran commercial after commercial promising that if you were in line for their big ticket items at the time the doors open they would let you give you a rain check to buy it at sale price if the stock at the store runs out. Turns out, they only had two big ticket items on stock and only two or three rain check vouchers available. Despite the fact that they ran ad after ad after ad that suggested that if you were in line before the doors open, in reality the first 5 to arrive 4 hours before the doors opened were the only ones that got the right to buy the item and if you took the ads at their word and waited until the doors opened to ask about it you not only wasted hours of your life but also gave up your chance to go to a different store to try to buy their door buster deals.

When I've ordered from Wal-Mart online things have always taken a REALLY long time to ship.
Godzilla Collection DVD set - Ordered: 6/27/13, Available for pick-up: 7/8/13
Mill Creek Crown International Pictures DVD sets - Ordered: 9/10/10, Available for pick-up: 9/24/10
I wouldn't worry, shit just takes forever. I would imagine forever is extended during Black Friday? As long as this though I'd probably send an e-mail.

Yeah, I've thought about sending an e-mail, but then I figured I'd just be bothering someone who doesn't know or care about the situation. I did call my local Wal-Mart where I'm supposed to pick up the TV and the lady just said, "Hon, I don't have a clue about any of this." So that wasn't exactly helpful.

That Godzilla one is not that bad. 5 Business days from the 27th (assuming you orderd after their cut off) would be the 7th. 30(1) 1(2) 2(3) 3(4) 4th Federal Holiday 7th (5) The Mill creek one yea that is bad.

I work at Walmart in the back room, and on the last day I worked (Sunday night into Monday morning) all those items had just arrived that night. And there was a lot of them, too. Enough to fill up and block off an entire aisle of bins, which made me doing my job much more difficult than it needed to be.

Having done Site to Store for Wal-Mart, the employees in store are going know as much as you, until it's actually in the store, but I'd also never seen something not come at all. Calling the .com helpline is your best bet to learn anything.

I'd call them and ask for a shipping number or try to get some information.

Can you explain what the one hour guarantee even means? What were they guaranteeing within an hour? Is it like how when you buy a car, you have three days to take it back to the dealership if you change your mind, except they only give you an guaranteed hour of satisfaction with the product?

Honestly? I'm not 100% sure what it is. My fiancee is the one who went out and braved the crowds for it. From what I can gather, if you were there within an hour of when the sale started, you're guaranteed to get the item. When you get it, however, is TBD. While browsing the Wal-Mart subreddit (and after being shocked that Wal-Mart had a subreddit), some workers on there are saying that every Wal-Mart received the items Monday morning. For whatever reason, they're not sending out the e-mails to pick them up. Some have said that calling and mentioning you have received the e-mail (even though you haven't) will get you the TV. But, yeah, I would feel like dick doing that. I'm not sure why, I've already paid for the thing.

Well, I got the e-mail to go get the thing, so I guess that's that. Now I just have to hope and pray the damn thing fits in my car.

My wife bought that same tv for my stepdaughter. Didn't have any trouble getting it. But the TV's were on-site not shipped, just had to drive around to the back to pick it up.

It's probably an Element TV if they never mentioned the brand.

The guarantee meant that you would get the advertised price if you were there within an hour, even if the actual physical tvs were sold out at the store. My store just got their one hour shipments in over the last two days.
