So I picked this up a week or so back for cheap. It's.. ok; disappointingly so really. The reason for that is, the good is very good: the cutscenes and writing are often hilarious, and the voicework is pretty great. Also when you get the odd strange bit like the game suddenly becoming "8 bit", it's loads of fun.
However, the bad comes in with just about everything else. The action/gameplay for like eighty percent of the game is pretty much the same thing over and over: Deadpool is surrounded by enemies, you mash buttons to kill em, repeat. Any areas that are challenging aren't hard because they're actually difficult, they're that way because there's dozens of enemies on-screen shooting you at once. You have a healing factor, but it takes a while to kick in; so for the VAST majority of the game you'll be going 'shoot shoot stab, run away, run away..'
It's this repetitiveness that makes it just TEDIOUS to get through. Couple that with no map-screen at all, and it can be a chore to slog through the levels.
It's a shame, because it could've been a really fun game instead of just 30 percent great/70 percent tedium. You just wish they'd have spent as much time on the gameplay itself as they did the legitimately fun cutscenes/voices. The latter will keep you interested enough to see what's next, but only just barely.
It's definitely a game I'll be getting rid of once I'm done with it. And again, 'challenge' wise I'd have finished it in an afternoon if the enemies weren't so cheap in so many areas.
Any one else checked it out?

I enjoyed it for what it was. It's a decent enough hack and slash adventure, it just feels like everyone involved with the making of it adopted a "that'll do" approach to everything.
With a little bit more inspiration it would have been a great game. Instead it feels like a half-finished one.

I don't really play video games but my boyfriend looked up stuff from this one. The only thing I really remember is the Cable appearance and that is because of the song. It was my boyfriend's alarm tone for a while and that was an interesting way to wake up.

I've enjoyed it, nothing like a hack and slasher to pass the time.
They could've done more though, like Missions with The X-men during the games. Like teaming up with Domino and see who racks up the most kills via bullets and guns would've been cool. Or slash you way through a horde of enemies with Wolverine or Psylocke. Lady Deadpool after you rescue Rogue was a nice surprise and probably some of what they had in mind and could've had in the game.

I was going to get this when it came out but I read the reviews first and decided not.
I have watched the cutscene movie on utube and it's solid entertainment.

it is ok. Nolan's performance and ad libbing luckily took away some of the stink of Daniel Way's shitty scripting.

I enjoyed the game. It's fun to play, but way too short. I bought my copy used so I don't feel so bad about some of the parts that weren't so great.

Yeah, pretty much what you said the cut scenes and random bits of goofiness during the gameplay like turning into a Zelda clone are great.
The regular gameplay was generic action game and a pretty short one at that.
It's ok (I'd say it's definitely worth a rental or picking it up on the cheap) but it's not great.
