Take your pick. The nWo peaked as it began and it went on for like years. Black and White? Wolfpack? Black and Silver? None of it really mattered outside of Hogans' initial defection. Hogan mattered. The Outsiders mattered. 123 mattered. Nobody else did. They could've brought guys like Savage and Hart in maybe with a little creative legwork, but they just completely said f*** it and went all in and hamfisted everything that their "organization" did. It was hot at that exact moment, but if you were steadily watching the WCDub through the late 90's, you know just how infuriatingly tiresome it ultimately got. BRANNANANOW BRANANANANANOW BRANNANANOW BRANANANANANOW NEWNEWNEWWORLDORDER Ugh, shut up. Where's La Parka? Why are you guys like 3/4 of the broadcast despite the fact none of your members hold any titles, are involved in any serious angles, etc? I would include DiBiase as one of the core members that made sense as the stable's benefactor and worked as kind of a J.J. Dillon of the group. What brought all the other guys on board was when Bischoff gave everyone an ultimatum to convert their WCW contracts to NWO contracts within a month or something. What I wondered at the time was... what if everyone converts their contracts to NWO? Then all the wrestlers will be in the same stable and who will there be to wrestle? Also, if they wanted everyone to be NWO, why didn't they let the Nasty Boys join?

I have a hard time believing Petty upset people as much as say VK Wall street haha.
My Bischoff stance comes from seeing how well he was doing as the anti NWO face.
But now that I'm thinking, Macho was maybe the worst. He was the one Hogan turned on. They beat his ass a lot. I remember hearing on air it was to reconnect with Liz, but she just got done banging Flair and taking Randy's money.

And even though it waters it down, the point of the NWO was to be their own promotion. So having a lot of people makes sense.

That one pissed me off because we get Muta spewing the mist into Sony Onno's face to turn on him instead of getting a Great Muta-Masahiro Chono match I was promised!

NWO 2000 (with Hall, Nash, Jeff Jarrett and the Nazi bikers from the Gang Wars storyline) attacking Bret Hart backstage and cutting off his ponytail only for Bret to take off his hat later to reveal that his hair was all still there and he was actually in the NWO and he had all you people fooled, etc. That didnt actually happen did it? I don't remember all the specifics but I remember the fake attack/haircut vividly. Even when I was 9 I thought its was shit but that's just how bad WCW was at the time. Too stupid for 9 year olds.

Bryan Adams? Horace Hogan? Stevie Ray?
Nothing against those guys personally, but isn't this where they pretty much hit rock bottom and added anyone they could?
I mean COME ON, was this credible?
I would've like Bryan Adams to be Bret Hart's bodyguard though. A New Foundation of Bret, Bulldog, Anvil, Adams, Benoit and Jericho would be neat.

The entire Wolfpack thing was weak and an obvious attempt to sell more t-shirts over creating good television. Agreed. It drove me nuts that people bought into the Wolfpac, despite how manufactured and derivative it was relative to the original nWo. Sting should never have joined the nWo. He did so without even offering a reason to back up his defection.I ate that shit up as a kid and thought that Sting knew that Hogan was the greatest evil for WCW, not the nWo per say. And Luger being there would have been enough to tempt Sting over. Now Luger is one that didn't really make sense, the Wolfpac save him from a B&W beating and they clear the ring together and all of a sudden he forgets everything they've ever done to him?

Was it ever explained why Curt Hennig and Rick Rude defected from the Wolfpac to nWo Hollywood? As for Hennig's initial defection to the nWo, I could say it was because he was reluctance in teaming with the Horsemen.

I've heard that Eric originality wanted to make the NWO its own brand. Basically have a Raw, vs Smackdown thing going. With NWO being the A show on monday and WCW being the B show on thursday. However the first Uncensored flopping hard was supposed to have killed the plans for an independent NWO brand.

And hardly surprising; mystery ring announcer calls every WCW wrestler a loser Both play by play and color commentators are clearly rooting for nwo Nick Patrick slow counting fir wcw, and possibly was wearing a nwo shirt? Should have been anyway 10 year old me loved the nwo, and even I thought this was terrible.......why should I pay money to see my heroes beat losers that have no hope?

Hennig, he ended up treading water in the NWO, the only guy in the faction who didn't change his look or his act in any way which made him look dated. He was a much better fit with the Horsemen, there he would have looked like an all time great alongside Flair, someone who was part of a timeless act but instead, he became nWo veteran #31.
Can't help but feel his defection was due to Hogan/Nash/Bishoff working backstage to try and bury the Horsemen once and for all.

Yeah, Dusty was just an idiotic defection. After all that pro-WCW stuff, he joins the nWo? Even Macho and Bischoff's made more sense than that, somehow. Also, if they wanted everyone to be NWO, why didn't they let the Nasty Boys join? As I recall, the Nastys did join the nWo. They were bought into the ring during an nWo promo wearing the shirts. .....but the gist of it was that they were being revealed as posers, who were never officially invited to join, and thus got their asses beaten severely for it. I don't remember them being around much after that. Knobbs would return eventually, but Sags vanished. Was it ever explained why Curt Hennig and Rick Rude defected from the Wolfpac to nWo Hollywood? They were teasing something about them going back to nWo Hollywood, but I have no recollection what exactly it was. I just remember that there was a reason.......but hey, like all things wrestling, there's a good chance they never properly pulled the trigger and explained it logically. (Then again, this could be the 1 time that they did. Damn, I'm old...)
