I'm honestly getting the feeling that they're doing this inane booking so they can turn him heel the night after WrestleMania to be the guy to face whoever wins the title at WrestleMania. Either that or to make sure he doesn't get too over and we have another crowd hijacking at the Rumble.

Like I said in the RAW thread, the main thing that could end up hurting him is this 50/50 booking that seems to be trying to protect both him and Wyatt taking a decisive loss, but ends up hurting them both because neither gets a decisive win.

It's more that they're building Wyatt, possibly for the Undertaker. They can have everybody trade wins and losses like they usually do or they can establish a pecking order. I prefer the latter. Ambrose is still clearly above the midcard, but a clear step below the top guys, which at the moment includes Wyatt on the heel side.

It really seems like Dean Ambrose is the one they didn't have a plan for after The Shield broke up. Roman Reigns is the guy being groomed to be the next top face, Seth Rollins is already a top heel working with John Cena, and Dean Ambrose is... not really doing much. They did the obligatory Ambrose/Rollins feud, and now both Ambrose and Bray Wyatt are just stuck feuding for no real reason. It was bound to happen to one of them, but it still sucks.

My theory with Ambrose is that he's just stuck in the "crazy man" rut. Creative thinks that he doesn't have to get big wins (or even little wins) because he'll stay over due to all his crazy antics.
The fact that he ended RAW with the last laugh (but not the win) seems support my theory.

Considering that they've still yet to really tell us what the Ambrose/Wyatt feud is about beyond just them both being crazy, I'd almost say that Ambrose is getting more over looking strong in defeat than winning decisively.

The WWE's trend of turning every borderline main eventer into a lame-joke telling, whacky, goofy comedy guy is my biggest pet hate in the WWE.
I'm waiting for Ziggler to feud with Rusev and start making the inevitable Vladimir Poo-tin jokes complete with bad photoshops.

It's been going downhill since the feud with Seth went from "I'm going to kill you" to "I'm going to aggressively play jokes on you". Dean Ambrose post-Shield & pre-movie was consistently the best part of the whole show, and it's disappointing how much his character has devolved since his return.

I don't know about you guys but I'm very impressed with wacky ambrose and his anarchy symbols that were cool when I was in high school in 1994.
He's definitely going to resonate with the kids dropping slime on his opponents.
What? You're younger and don't get it? Well then I guess you don't get to like him unless you try that much harder.
*facepalm*
Sometimes booking seems to somehow make fun of EVERYONE. This is one of those times. Think I'm making fun of you? I'm not. Be younger, that's fine. But holy shit, this is stupid as f*** and seems to just fail everyone.

Maybe something about Ambrose reminds Vince McMahon of Carrot Top or Gallagher.

This is literally the only company in the world that could have something as white hot as when Ambrose gets out of the cab to kick Rollins' ass and piss it away due to what can only be sabotage or sheer ineptitude.

I still think it's a rib they call him the "lunatic fringe" when he hasn't got one.

They're cooling him off because his massive overness wasn't in their plans. They tried the same thing last year with Bryan, but he was too over for it to work. Ambrose however is not, and it shows. His reactions shrink with each instance of shit booking. Being paired with that wet blanket hillbilly isn't helping.

They should be gearing him up for a big Rumble push right now. Instead, they've squandered every bit of momentum he had when he came back. It's baffling how often they do stuff like this.

"Gotta make Roman look strong." -CM Punk To me it sounds like they learned their lesson from the crowd hijacking last year. Book every babyface to look dumb except for the guy going to win the Rumble. Ambrose is in Punk's spot of last year. He will last a long while but get eliminated due to whomever he will face at the Mania and we will be left to cheer for Roman to win (just like we were last year).

They are using him to build out Wyatt, who just a few weeks ago this forum was complaining about because he had no momentum after losing to Cena.
You guys do realise that right? I mean, unless you are the very top guy, you will always be booked as less strong than someone else on the roster. Ambrose is main eventing PPVs and Raws, and is in a great spot in the company right now. The fact that they deem him suitable to build Wyatt back up, speaks really well for him. It shows they feel he is pretty high up and has got enough heat to be worthwhile losing to Wyatt.
He's doing absolutely fine, and Wyatt is better off for it. The moment they want to make Ambrose a threat to the top guys, it will take about a month of booking and he will be back there again. It's so easy. And it constantly happens all the time. How do you guys not see this?

The only problem with that is that Dolph Ziggler's actually being booked really well right now and is way more over than anyone else (consistently gets pops and the crowd is always invested in the his matches).

How do you guys not see this? Terrific. None of this addresses the main gripe, that his character has devolved into shit. If he was still the Ambrose of 3 months ago, I'd have no problem with him losing to Bray Wyatt. It's not about the loss, or his spot, for me.
