"Gotta make Roman look strong." -CM Punk To me it sounds like they learned their lesson from the crowd hijacking last year. Book every babyface to look dumb except for the guy going to win the Rumble. Ambrose is in Punk's spot of last year. He will last a long while but get eliminated due to whomever he will face at the Mania and we will be left to cheer for Roman to win (just like we were last year). The only problem with that is that Dolph Ziggler's actually being booked really well right now and is way more over than anyone else (consistently gets pops and the crowd is always invested in the his matches). True. I'd say he's in the Bryan role of last year, but they won't be dumb enough this time around to not put him in the rumble. Like Ambrose he will probably go the distance and then be eliminated by whomver he'll feud with at mania.

I mentioned this a while ago, but with the rumor of Wyatt facing UT at WM next year it was obvious to me that Ambrose was going to be jobbed out in this feud. Ambrose is perennially the guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. He feuded with Rollins, but they needed Rollins to stay over for the Cena feud. Now with Wyatt it's the same deal. Jobbing Ambrose to set up a heel for Taker to maul at WM just seems sooooo counterproductive though. It's the sort of thing CM Punk ranted against in that podcast.

What I find most interesting, and terrifying, is that Dean's mentioned that the mannequin thing was all Vince's idea. Vince literally gave him the mannequin and more or less gave him what he said in the promo around it.
So. That idea literally came from the owner of the company.
It's like the perfect recent crystallization of just how out of touch Vince is with his product and his fans.

I'd say that Ziggler is getting better booking than Reigns at this point. I don't know where it's all heading, but he's probably in the best position of any top babyface right now. It's like the perfect recent crystallization of just how out of touch Vince is with his product and his fans. The weirdest thing about that is that Vince seems to really like Ambrose. He's giving him these stupid ideas because in his mind, they're great ideas. He honestly believes that he's doing Dean a favor.

They are using him to build out Wyatt, who just a few weeks ago this forum was complaining about because he had no momentum after losing to Cena. You guys do realise that right? I mean, unless you are the very top guy, you will always be booked as less strong than someone else on the roster. Ambrose is main eventing PPVs and Raws, and is in a great spot in the company right now. The fact that they deem him suitable to build Wyatt back up, speaks really well for him. It shows they feel he is pretty high up and has got enough heat to be worthwhile losing to Wyatt. He's doing absolutely fine, and Wyatt is better off for it. The moment they want to make Ambrose a threat to the top guys, it will take about a month of booking and he will be back there again. It's so easy. And it constantly happens all the time. How do you guys not see this? Terrific. None of this addresses the main gripe, that his character has devolved into shit. If he was still the Ambrose of 3 months ago, I'd have no problem with him losing to Bray Wyatt. It's not about the loss, or his spot, for me. Well that's your gripe, I'm addressing the gripe of him apparently being worse of because he's associated with Wyatt. But the main gripe? That's easy. They've made him a character that does funny things to appeal to the kids as well as the adults. He's getting good reactions, so he's fine.

I can compare this to the whole Daniel Bryan "goatface" & Dr. Shelby era. I'm sure a lot of us who wanted to see Bryan Danielson kicking heads in thought the comedy angle would be death for him, but I honestly think that it did a lot to endear him to the casual fans. Granted, the Dr Shelby stuff was a lot more entertaining than a lot of the crap Ambrose has been doing, but nonetheless...

I love Ambrose. He just somehow makes things that most people would fail at work. Like coming out of the ambulance was so cheesy, but I thought it looked so badass when Ambrose did it. Same with the hotdog cart. The mannequin was a little weird but I like to imagine it was supposed to be a little unnerving.

If anyone else besides Ambrose came out of a foggy ambulance it would have looked dumb as f*** I agree. Ambrose came out though and it totally worked. Crowd went nuts too. It felt like something out of a movie but it somehow worked at the time.

"Well I want revenge on Rollins for nearly killing me with a cinder block. But, dammit, Wyatt's smoke and light show got me distracted!"
Confusing as F***.

I don't call him Dean Ambrose anymore. I call him THE Ambrose. Not sure exactly what an Ambrose is yet however.
Probably something good though.

If they had big plans for him, he would have gone over Rollins. Vince would have not done that to Austin in 97 or 98.

Ambrose was one of the only 4 people put over by Vince on Austin's podcast. Hell, he was the first one said if I remember correctly.
He's fine.

I'm honestly getting the feeling that they're doing this inane booking so they can turn him heel the night after WrestleMania to be the guy to face whoever wins the title at WrestleMania. "You people never believed in me, never respected me, and you Roman Reigns are riding this wave of these stupid people right here in this arena tonight and in the WWE Universe to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! But now that I am free of these people I can win!" *Dean proceeds to lose to Reigns in every match* Also they remove the intro to Ambrose's theme because it gets pop and insert random yelling of, "BANG!" everywhere in the song to completely butcher its tune. Then eighteen months later they turn him face and pretend all of that never happened. But yeah, their use of Ambrose to me comes off like they know how over and talented he is and want to exploit it, but don't want to actually push him. At every single turn since the Shield broke up he's looked like an incompetent goober who is completely incapable of beating absolutely anybody. There was no reason whatsoever he should have lost to Rollins in the cell. None. At all. Rollins wouldn't have lost any heat from losing and at least Ambrose would have one big win under his belt instead of being a complete joke like he currently is.

f***ed him up, that's what. I mean, he'll still be over and sell merch and that's nice. Personally though, I don't really care about the dude anymore. Just too much stupid stuff. The tv blowing up in his face was the last straw. That made him look like a complete goober. I don't support babyfaces that are goobers.

That is what you think but everyone knows that main eventing multiple PPV's is a sure sign of a burial and that WWE has no plans to use you. In truth what they have done is played up his lunatic aspect of his character which honestly he does really well so I think it was a great decision. What I really wonder is if Ambrose is going through the he is popular now he sucks problem that plagues so many people the WWE pushes.

He's been pretty badly written since he came back. Rains tries to kill him, so of course when he gets back he plays practical jokes on him. There's kind of a leap in logic at play here.
It's like when Reigns Drugged Stephanie's drink. This crap does no favors for anyone, and To think these are the guys Bince WANTS most to push.

I don't even like Reigns, but I gave them a pass on the drugging/vomiting stuff since Reigns was nowhere to be found when the actual "comedy" occurred. Someone else brought up the issue of Ambrose making a big spectacle about how he's going to eviscerate those who have wronged him and leave them bloody, bruised, and broken, and then proceeds to play practical jokes on them.
